a longer warning sound during draft

i thought the whole point of the ticking sound was to warn players to lock in a champion/ban, i wanted to change up masteries and didn't notice it was my time to ban. by i got the warning it was pretty much to late for me to actually exit out of my masteries and ban a champion, what is like 5 seconds? why can't it be 10 seconds long, then people can actually react to the warning better.
