Let Twitch cast E while moving

Small buff that I think would help him out a lot. When you reach late game it's not always worth it to even cast contaminate when you can keep auto attacking. Twitch also tries to 1v1 enemies a lot, and if that duel is really close, that small cast time can be the difference of weather he wins or loses by procing those 6 stacks. It's really frustrating to die mid contaminate.

I'm almost certain that not only does Kalista's Rend do more damage than a fully stacked Twitch Contaminate. But that it can be done faster.

WHY DOES KALISTA GET TO DO MORE DAMAGE THAN TWITCH?!?? TWITCH CAN'T HOP AROUND LIKE A GREASED MONKEY, all he can do is stealth, get into position, shoot as fast as he can while covering his eyes and hope he did enough damage to not be twisted into a knot by the tank

Twitchs problem in soloq isn't that he doesn't do damage. The ghostblade/bork powerspike is really really strong. Almost with no counterplay.

His problem is his laning phase and he will have a hard time surviving it.

Lanning phase and that he needs a strong ward game to play. Twitch ambush mid game play needs a metric ton of vision, since Twitch have no playmaking potential, he must abuse his stealth and plan ahead, only engaging in his favor. Without wards, theres not enough info for Twitch to do his thing

twitch has the best level 1, he just finishes with E after 5aa's and suddenly he does more damage than every other adc in the game, the problem is no1 is going to just stand there and trade with him.

twitch has weak early game (except for cheese tactics in the mid lane), an ok mid game because he has range and can stay relatively safe in team fights, and an AWESOME late game hyper carry potential with +36ad, +70%as, +300range, +piercing AA's, +multiplicative damage assuming you can build a hurricane(not always possible, but epic against squishy teams).

so i would agree that he has a weak early game, and solo q is all about getting ahead early and snowballing, so it does explain why he has a lower win rate than a lot of champions, but twitch is so good late game.

I feel your pain man, I really do. Riot uses cast times to force the player to make a decision, if not only costing some kind of resource (mana, health, energy) it will cost time. If there is an inherent time penalty to use a certain ability it means you can't just use everything willy nilly. In this case, you mentioned that it isn't always worth it to cast contaminate if you can keep auto attacking, and that makes sense. Contaminate's range is longer than your autos, so why should it rival the damage of your autos? Contaminate's use then comes down to finishing off your burst after the enemy leaves your range or to slow an opponent.

Riot has figured out that if they want to load additional "features" into a champion's kit, it has to pay some additional "cost". They don't like giving champions an ability for free, because that creates a very linear path to balance. By making an ability more complex with inherent disadvantages, it allows them to make the ability more powerful as long as it is being used properly.

Does that make sense? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just giving trying to give you a little bit more perspective.

Contaminate doesn't have a slow, but it DOES have a pretty hefty mana cost.

You're right, I mixed his abilities up a bit. Regardless, I think my point still stands.

Contaminate USED to have a slow, actually. That was pre-rework. You might be thinking of that

Well most of ADC's abilities late game are rather useless unless they are steroids or tools to escape the reason they aren't very good is because the cast time usually isn't worth it for the loss of DPS especially with things like Caitlyn Q though it is alright to poke with because of its long range

And then you meet Katarina that has no cast time (not saying she's op, just fluid). I like cast times in general on Mages, like Fiddle's fear cast time, or Vlad's e. But Twitch isn't a mage.

Gangplank first

Boy, welcome to the Gangplank argument asking to remove cast times on simple abilities, specifically his E. +1, i think it'd be a good idea.

Only after cast times get removed from vlad.

No see, now vlad is the one champ that I support cast times on simple spells. Its because of FirstSergeantBim's argument above: cost. Vlad's spells have 0 cost. In fact, they both do damage and heal him. The only cost that he has right now is the little stops he does while casting. This offers a lot of counterplay, as they offer time to trade or engage. If vlad had no cast times, he could q-e from a ranged champ's aa range, and there would be no chance for them to stop and aa back.

Vlad's e and w have costs, while his e doesn't directly heal him (until he gets spellvamp, but that goes for anyone). His costs are quite harsh early on, and w will always have a decent cost.

I still approve of cast times on him though, he's a mage, he casts his spells and they're not that long. Besides, having no cast times would make him a lot stronger.

Honestly Twitch needs a lot more help than that to be competitive.

CoolKnightST2 votes

He's still picked in competive, remember worlds. The problem with Twitch is that you need a lane swamp to enable him to survive the lane phase. A strategy that is not arround in regular solo Q.

Twitch was only seen successfully from Imp in the S4 championship and he is arguably the best Twitch player in the world. It should not take a full team's effort at an extremely high level of play to make a champion successful. His constant 45% winrate is also pretty important.

It's a buff to jungle twitch, I approve.

Sugar Momma1 votes

This seems like a small buff that wouldn't make Twitch oppressive in any way, but would help those players good at Twitch.

As much as I do NOT want to see Twitch be at his height in last season, I do think he deserves a little bit of love. This is a great step in that direction.

I'd be satisfied just to see his passive DoT feel a little more useful than just stacks to detonate with Contaminate.

Just coming in to say that removing cast times is a huge buff, see Hecarims Rampage.
