Is there a difference in playstyle or gameplay of Masters and Challengers?

Disregarding some of the "X champion needs nerf" or "X champion needs buff/rework" threads for right now this question popped up in my head. I watched a highlight of SKT T1 Faker earlier in Master (He must of got demoted during worlds) he absolutely crushed everyone in the game, it didn't even seem like a challenge. It seems like if you truly deserve challenger getting past Masters is no big deal, I always thought Master and Challenger was pretty much the same. I'm not sure if it varies among regions but in Korea it seems like you can tell the difference between Master and Challenger but in NA you can't. No hate to NA though I love my region I just don't think we take League as seriously as Koreans. So guys, do you think there is a different? Do you think it's a major difference or something small that Masters need to achieve to get to challenger? I would love for you to comment and tell me your opinion

Lets keep this a friendly discussion please ^^ -Nublu

I always thought of it as Masters is the Rank, Challenger is the prestige.

But yeah, even among people so close in skill level, of course something will vary. At that point though it's probably mostly micro tuning and not some gigantic game changing factor.

Thanks for comment! That does make sense maybe Master have gameplay and knowledge at the highest level but they need work on their mechanics and reflexes

the 2 differences are the amount of games played and perhaps slightly less mistakes from challengers.

Well amount of games played could be debatable but being consistent is a good difference

If you have 2 people with an agrage win rate of 54% and one plays 1000 games and the other plays 2000 the one with 2000 would more then likely be challenger while the other might be in masters. It does add up when dealing with players of comparable skill.

Ranked is an exponential distribution, I believe.

Diamond is literally 1% of the player base. Yet the skill gap between a bronze and a diamond 5 is just as big as the skill gap between a diamond 5 and a masters player. Likewise, a low masters player and a top 20 challenger are so far apart in skill, its almost like diamond vs. bronze.
