if i gank bot and the enemy jungle ganks top for free, me backing literally makes no difference whether he can do so or not

Depends on the lane ganked, summoner spells that are up and enemy locations (where is that jungler). Thumping the tower simply because you can is not always the correct follow up to a successful gank. You know this.

OP said it like a dick but s/he has a point. Not sure about his comment afterward but the original post, yeah.

If you gank/roam and get a lead against your enemy laner in any way, you should recall so that lead actually makes a difference when you both go back to lane.

Ex: youre top lane. Your jungler ganks your opponent for you, putting them behind. You push creep wave to tower so they can't get the farm. Two possibilities here.

a) You stay and keep farming even when they come back, leaving you to either recall or now play at a disadvantage since they went to shop and you didn't. Or, b) You recall, then meet the enemy laner after you got to take advantage of your 300+ lead by getting a better item or two, and they have to play safer.
