You know damage is too high, when a Soraka Main takes his leave

Actually I have left months ago, but since nothing has changed and everything got even worse, I might as well write up my perspective on the matter.

You see, I loved playing Full AP Soraka top in my Plat-Level Ranked Games, annoying my enemies with a barrage of Qs and Bananas, while keeping my E ready to block out any attack they might make, until I could finally outlast them thanks to the healing from my Qs. Not maybe the most optimal pick, but it was fun. In the midgame I just loved to ruin enemy ganks by randomly pressing R, in the lategame I just healed for tons (and fucked over assassins with my silence).

The problem started when damage creep kicked in. At the start I didn't even bother - that's even why I picked Soraka to begin with: if everything is a one-shot fiesta, making your team impossible to One-Shot should be a guaranteed victory, right? Sure sometimes you got ~~absolute retards ~~ teammates who couldn't get anything done after getting a second, a third, and fourth chance, but for the most part it went really well.

However, it didn't stop there - damage creep just grew and grew and grew. The enemy brings down my teammate to 10% hp with the rest of the combo on the way, I W->Ult->W again, slow the attacker and even drop a silence, and my teamate still dies. I mean, I literally cannot do more, my build already looks like this item 3504 item 3158 item 3089 item 3102 item 3157 (lol who gets even a 6th item with games this short?). Combined with the keystone I literally couldn't heal more even if I wanted to.

People get blown up so fast, even as a hyper-specialized support with a hyper-specialized build you just can't do anything against it. Literally all I can do is give people more HP for the enemy to chew through, but with damage this high it means almost nothing. Like, if even Soraka, the one champ supposed to "keep HP bars full" can't even do her job anymore, not even when building full AP+CDR and combining scalings and squeezing out every single bonus you can get, then you know the game is just broken.

Not even the biggest Soraka buffs could fix that. My AP-doped abilities bring people up to full health already, even if I could make their HP-bar full one more time, that'd just get shredded away as all the other healing I have provided. Damage is just too goddamn high! The enemy didn't even try to kill me anymore in the end because they knew if they beat up my team just hard enough there was nothing I could do about it.

Reduce Damage Creep! My hope's on preseason 9 now that this fraud of a "Lead gameplay Design" is gone and can no longer force his disorted vision on the game, and that this issue will finally be adressed. Maybe then I might reinstall - something not even the latest event could get me to do. I mean, it looks nice, but in the end it's just a "celebrating a new overpriced cosmetic content"-party, and that does not exactly resonate with me. Maybe if we had gotten a mode more tied together with actual lore, then maybe, but like this? I mean I really considered it, but if I can't play my main because the game on a fundamental level has gone to shit, why even bother?

Imagine all the crying if Soraka's heal only cost mana and buffed armor -- in Season 8

Honestly buff it. Make it more like a combo of Zac globs and Warwick Q. 10% of your max HP to cast, and heals 10% of their max hp or some minimum value. lol

I mean with the keystone I kinda give armor. Not as much, but still its something. And the heal-cost is mostly reduced because I'm on a perma-Q-selfheal buff, so that's no problem either.

Tbh damage at this point is so high, I doubt that even Soraka in her most broken iteration could stand up against it.
