Riot could you give us the current number of players players per month like in 2016 ?

Guess what ?

Since 2016 no numbers have been released. If you didn't know in 2016 riot broke a world record by reaching 100 million players per month.

They were so proud that they released the numbers.

If that number did grow they would have told us proudly because they would continue to break world records and investor would be happy or would invest on the game.

What can we guess ? : well the number has never increased so there is a lot of chances that it decreased... that's why since 2016 they haven't released anything. If they released those number it would be a bad thing for riot economically because pf the investors.

Why does riot invest so much with the lcs ?

Riot began to loose the ancient players and the veterans so they use a lot the lcs to compensate and to get new players and to get money from various incomes.

As you may know they use a lot advertisings to promote their game. Moreover if the game average duration has been reduced to 20min its because riot consider that if they want to attract a lot of players they can't focus on "no-life" players because they represemt only perhaps 10% of the community of gaming. They are looking for the normal average of players and for them 30-50 min games is too long.

But riot pay attention the kind of players you are trying to attract, those are the kind of players following trends. Nothing is eternal however trends don't last long. On the other hand passionate players do...

That's the reason why wow is still alive... most of the players are passionate players investing a lot of time and even money.

However each time they tried to attract new players they lost old players... the only times their number of players increased its when they tried to attract old players...
