How do you counter Nocs ult?

This isn't a Nocs Op thread, but an actual question.

Seems the moment he hits 6, he has a quarantined kill on whatever squishy he chooses, even under tower.

I can't ward against him because he will just ignore them completely.

I can't stun him the second he lands because he has a spell shield if his timing is good.

... and the damage currently is so high in game he can kill you in 1.2 seconds from ult.

This isn't a late game issue, but as soon as level 6 comes - he can freely one shot someone from insane range.

What do you do early game to avoid getting ulted and insta killed?

He doesn't really have that much damage, especially right off the bat at Lv6.

Basically put, how do you counter any hard engage? Poke out teammates so they don't have any confidence to fight/you can turn on them easily. Have wave priority so that the enemy team has to choose between fighting or objectives. Make sure to stay healthy and stand in a safe spot. Noct's engage is a little over the top but there are a lot of fundamentals still at play even if he wants to try to Ult. He can't just dive 1v2 and get a clean kill, he needs teammates to turn it into a 3v2, something he can't do if his teammates are pushed under tower or are running around at half health. Likewise, if you're easily getting outpushed and poked, no shit Noct is gonna be a problem, literally any engage champ would be a problem for you.

If you are playing an ADC then try and save flash for when he ult you so you get some distance and you can begin to kite him. Or as soon as he hits lvl 6 try and make sure that the enemy has no vision of you at all. He can only use the dash part of his ult if he has vision of a target, that is because he has to actually click on the target, if he doesn’t have vision of you then he can’t ult to you.

You could also use a QSS as soon as he uses ult to get rid of the nearsight. Idk if it cancels him being able to dash to you tho.

If you really want to dick on him as an adc ask your supp to play tahm if you see a noc. If he ult you then your tahm can eat you and can run away, saving you from death. I think noc’s spell shield only blocks one ability so you can have your tahm instantly use q on noc, proc his spell shield then let tahm build up his devour stacks and eat noc. You could also play an adc that is not immobile, in other words he/she has dashes that lets you get away from the noc before he can fear you.

You can also get the stopwatch rune from the inspiration tree in your runes. Usually most solo laners and the junglers get lvl 6 near the 6 min mark. So you can also use stopwatch to wait out his spell shield and let your cooldowns come back up if you were already fighting.

Like what NACHO said above, noc doesn’t really do that much damage at lvl 6 unless he is really fed and already has his jungle item or another powerspike item completed. If he is fed enough that he already is past lvl 6 and has his first item completed, then the game is already snowballed enough that you are gonna most likely lose.

Note: I said all of this info assuming that you are an ADC or squishy mid laner and you are almost always pushed under tower.

enchanters can be pretty handy to help with as well, it requires good coordination from your support to help you weather the dives. Any soft cc ad carries my have trouble (twitch, mf) but jinx can be a nice option to counter him. Also it may affect your damage but you could invest early on in a GA or a stopwatch to provide a proactive solution to his dives. His cooldowns can be lengthy early on, so investing in a stopwatch may be a difference maker in him getting an early one shot and you getting out alive.

rod of ages for health If youre also against a burst mage/ assassin. Seekers/ zhonyas if hes looking mid all the time. Stopwatch rune or resolve secondary. You can kind of counter pick him with a mage with abilities like akali shroud or lisandra ult

i disagree thats its an issue right when he hits 6.. as that is the peroid in time where he normally isnt fed enough to do much

its normally much more of an issue later when it on a shorter cooldown and when he can 1 shot you

his ulti gives him "unstoppable" as soon as he lands he casts ahis spellsheild and his fear teather.

his Q speedboost allows him to stay in range for his fear to connect, his spellshield stops you from ccing him.

i mean i can see if your hari u could break the spellshield with your Q ( although i would think your W would do that better) then if your charm lands you could then use two dashes of ur ulti to escape...

but.. even for that to work u would need a

a long range dash.. to get of of his fear tether range

a way to reluable proc his spellshield and then CC him on seperate abilties, .

overall.. his ulti is too powerful not becuase of the gapcloser.. but becuase of the vision denial... unless u are on the same screen as the person getting ultied... u dont know who he is targeting and u cant help them.

not even Shen can ulti them.

i dont see a reaosn why u cant see what your teammates see.. there is no reason to stop that.

i mean hell in LCS thier right next to eachother and can look at each others freaking screen to see what is happening.

have it removal all vision of everythjing except for what the champs see

kinda of like how TwistedFate ultiu grants vision on the enemy..

noturn ultri can removal all vision than is not granted by champions themselves

respect they have a nocturne and dont leave your tower is the usual go to strat for me. also im less concerned about his damage and more concerned with the fact he has the strongest utility in the game via his ultimate. loss of vision for 6 seconds is HUGE when fights usually end in about 3-4
