No they gave us a skin shard for enough ip to buy a relatively pricey champion. The whole point of the event was to incentives buying more chests.

You realize that League is COMPLETELY dependent on skin sales right? The fact that they even have a hextech crafting system is astonishing to me, I've gotten 7 skins so far from it counting the PROJECT: Zed from this event. Stop complaining about receiving free shit, it's getting annoying.

I am well aware that it is a marketing strategy, here's the thing though, Riot Games is a company. I don't know what you expect, companies are designed to make money, that is their sole purpose, that's what they're made to do buddy. I understand what the system is designed for, but at the same time it still offers free content that I didn't pay a dime for, be it a marketing strategy or not. If you don't like it, then don't use it, no one is forcing you to use it.

You just agreed that they're a company. Then you should understand that Riot's not doing anything out of the good of their heart(s). They're trying for a profit and saying "I mean, they did give all of us a free skin..." is firstly false since it costed ip, a system that's gated and made to irritate players into buying champions with real money, it costed an amount comparable to most champions, and secondly it gave you shards one of them being a project skin shard which took it's own resources and needs essence to make into a skin.

U didn't spend money like this system is perfect for ppl like me that can't afford to buy Project Zed and I got it essentially for free. It might be kinda hard to collect keys yea but I get them from playing!! Idk why would I complain

However I bet Riot will introduce system where you can spend 10 Essence to buy random element of either champion, skin, icon or ward skin shard. Combining 100 Elements with 100 Essence will turn it into particle. Combining 1 000 Particles with 10 000 Essence will turn it into Quarter. Combining 10 000 Quarters (geniuz) and 1 000 000 Essence will create empty blueprint. Combining 1 000 000 Blueprints and 10 000 000 Essence will create blueprint. Combining blueprint with 100 unicorn horns, 50 hearts of virgin, 20 sigils of good champion balance and 50 000 000 Essence will create shard, which you can redeem for 100 000 000 Essence.

Yeah, I personally save most of things like this, cause there's no reason to disenchant 'anything' unless you're 'immediately' converting it into a purchase. Which given the small amounts here… will be basically never.

I'm more caught off guard by how it was part of the announcement that any left-over cores would be disenchant-able after the event. Putting extra value in the chests beforehand; only to realize they set it as low as they possibly could.

In reality the average person will not see a single difference from netting a +5 orange essence. When skins cost anywhere from 675-1400 orange.

I didn't take that announcement to mean that the project materials would be worth something. I just took that as a guarantee that participating in the event wouldn't clog up your inventory with shit yoy'll never be able to use. I didn't expect them to disenchant for anything.

I don't really see a relationship between the two. Poor decisions about balance and game design were made this season, so disenchanting project cores should give a large amount of orange essence? What's the connection?

If you expected something from the disenchanting, then I can see where you're coming from. I didn't though. I honestly just expected them to let us remove the useless components from our inventory. Nothing more. That by itself would have been reasonable. Any extra orange essence is just a bonus, and I'm not going to get upset with them because something I expected to be nothing and was fine with being nothing is slightly more than nothing.

In reality anyone who has 1395 essence will net a HUGE difference towards a 1400 essence skin with just a +5 orange essence.

Besides, there are players with 150+ cores. What did you want them to be worth? 10? 20? Those players would have over 3000 orange essence, which would devalue the entire concept of hextech crafting as a collections system.

Wanna know what's the funniest thing about this? You are only able to disenchant project cores one by one. Just imagine the pain someone has to go trough if they have like 300 cores lel :^)
