CoD Mobile players discover real odds for the Halloween lucky draw | Dot Esports

Hey, for those of you that have not been following the latest Tencent controversy. Head over to the CallofDutyMobile reddit.

After months of sketchy loot box/events players started to data mine the game only to discover the listed loot %'s ingame were false.

The worst offender was a Lucky Spin event that advertised an item as 40% when in reality it was less then 0.01%. They intentionally mislead players so they'd spin every spin hoping to get it.

Googleplay and Apple have been giving out refunds already, its hit a few news sites and even AngryJoe did a video on it.

Now the updated faqs page proves every crate previously had fabricated odds.

Do you honestly want them involved in League of Legends mobile launch? This is not the first game they've been shady in...

I've already written off Mobile as something made for china. Let tencent monetize the hell out of that game and hopefully they forget about the pc games coming up the pipeline.

Kind of sad that will likely also mean that tft mobile will be monetized like crazy as well (although as long as they focus everything on cosmetics and lootboxes, I guess free to play players like myself have nothing to worry about).

Well, after all Tencent is cotrolled by the Chinese government - some of the biggest scumbags on this planet. https://i.redd.it/tqjo7v2z8pr31.png

Told you, this company is totally not shady. That's why they usually reveal so many informations, like real player numbers, mmr, matchmaking actual rules, and so on.

Tencent has no control over LoL outside china, so we should be fine. Anything that happens would be on riot themselves.

well the same thing already happened with leagues loot boxes so ...

Not surprising, they're run by China aka the big greedy money government country.

They're a Chinese company. Shady is the normal order of business.

What do you mean? Tencent owns Riot, every decision like Little legends, loot boxes, and chromas have been Tecent.

LatetotheRace10/26/2019, 8:57:27 PM4 votes

Tencent owns what... 98% of riot games? Yeah...

NelsieLisnen10/26/2019, 7:50:28 PM4 votes

Why act as if Riot are the innocent little snowflakes that are held hostage by big bad daddy China? Riot have sold themselves off to Tencent on their own to quench their money grubbing appetite. And why are so many people acting like China is the only big bad guy in this world? Every big player in the geopolitical game, every home or off-shore corp is looking to make money off of deceiving the population.

Loot boxes are gambling.

To be fair, this is Activision, and while Tencent has a majority stake in Activision, they don't fully control the company. While this does sound like something Tencent would do, this also sounds like something that Activision-Blizzard would do. So this might not be them at all.

If it IS them, then we're screwed anyhow, as Tencent has a 100% stake in Riot, meaning they fully control the company.

Not really sure what this post impacts aside from encouraging people to not buy loot boxes in any game created by a company that Tencent has majority stake in, which includes League of Legends, TFT, Wild Rift, and every other Riot property.

who the fuck buys more than $10 a month on mobile games?

A Chinese Corp lying? NO

This is a lot of why I know the Ranked System is rigged.
