Playing on a console definitely has some advantages to playing on a PC (assuming we were able to). For one thing, most XBOX One controllers (and PS4 controllers too I think) come with a mic now, so instead of typing everything out you can just use the mic in your controller. Voice recognition software exists (Xfinity anyone?), so what if the game was able to recognize what the person was saying and put that into the chat box. This could be useful in champ select and in game. A button on the controller would allow you to switch between all chat and team chat.

Moving your character around is also very simple. One control stick controls movement, while the other controls the camera, and the buttons are used for abilities. Consumables and item actives can also be assigned to buttons. Most modern controllers have enough buttons that there should be enough for all your item actives.

  1. Mouse and keyboard always beat controller. The precision is much better.
  2. They can add comms at anytime. They dont want to.
  3. TF2 and CS GO console ports are a great example why not to port.

IIRC, they were going to add in voice chat, but the community backlashed against it.

Ok, moving the character around and aiming in a direction with a controller is one thing, but targeting specific units while moving and using abilities is something else; it isn't feasible to play a game like League with a controller. Sure it can be done, but most champions would perform about 5 tiers lower than if controlled by a mouse/keyboard.

Ok sure but why1 votes

we should make Nightblue play with a controller

Well, he could do it with Amumu with little trouble.

Well, BoxBox already tried playing Riven with a PS4 controller and can relatively do well with it.

Obviously playing on a computer is better. No one denies this. I'm just saying it's feasible to play this game on a console.

Imagine trying to do a gang plank barrel quickly enough to be useful on a controller. That would be nightmare. There is a lot more that goes into the controls than simply using the abilities. A lot of the characters just require skill shots and precision that would be extremely difficult to ever do well with controllers.

Because trying to play league on a controller would be impossible.

Especially because the engine is not meant to handle button-based realtime movement, and would cause a lot of very strange bugs.

The problem is,a game like league requires constant attention/movement and using something like a analog stick would make thin skillshots hard,as well as pining on the map

People who wanted to play League of Legends would already have played it. Porting it to consoles on a game that doesn't need much to run it. There's zero good reasons to port it on consoles.
