Title

With the current poor state that bruisers are in and how they lack a keystone that isnt OP on either tanks or ADCs, if you could design a keystone for bruisers what would it be??

Probably Fervor.

Probably Fervor.

Pretty much tbh. I hate having to take fleet footwork on Yasuo and arcane comet on Camille.

Melee only

We have come to a point where a bunch of items or runes are balanced only if they are specifically weaker on ranged. Think old rageblade had to be made 2x faster to stack on melee to be good on those, now it stacks the same for melee/ranged and oh surprise only ranged champs take it. Same for fervour. Same for grasp actually

Something like Fervor but melee only

Depends on what champions it's actually for. "Bruiser" is a build more than it is a champion class, and the classes that are typically called "bruiser" are Juggernauts, Skirmishers, and Divers. Each class has wildly different needs.

Skirmishers and Divers could use something like the old Fervor, where as Juggernauts will get almost no use out of it. I main Juggernauts, and I think they need more than a keystone to deal with their current problems, so I'd say something like Fervor would be fine.

I wouldnt consider juggernauts bruisers though since Bruisers in general have smth like a similar item builds in all ways and can all play as skirmisher or diver by my definition (Like nothing stops a Fiora from diving the enemy adc and i bet ya she can do it pretty well if fervor is a thing again). Also champions like garen or Darius dont really do the same thing that other champs you could consider bruisers would do imo. They build tank items they dont even actually need dmg items and they are mainly just lane bullies unlike almost all other Bruisers so i wouldnt consider Juggernauts actual bruisers but moreso dmg heavy tanks. Sorry if that offends you in anyway just to put it out there cus you know its 2018 people can get offended by anything xD

Before the Juggernaut class was defined they were all called Bruisers by the community. I actually made a thread back then asking why they didn't just make Bruiser an official term instead of going with Juggernaut back in the day because of it.

They have been changed since then, but to me they still fit the definition. At the very least it has historical precedent.

Atleast if you wanna talk about needs and game design juggernauts dont fit into the theme if you know where im coming from here. They need different stats and have different goals than all things i would consider a bruiser.

To be fair back in the day none of those terms were clear, and were all interchangable. The only similarity between all "bruisers" and "off tanks" and stuff was being somewhat tanky with damage. Riot has done a lot to make each class more unique, and I wouldn't go back personally. They definitely needed it.

Today Bruiser has pretty much lost all meaning, with people who are new just not knowing and people from the old days not applying it the same to all classes. I personally used it for any champion that was a primary fighter, secondary tank, but some people consider champs like Riven to be Bruisers.

Point is we should be using the new terms to avoid confusion.

New term: Imma go with ex melee fervor abusers . Cus you know where im coming from then and what type of champs i exactly talk about. :)

I think the issue we are having with coming up with something is making a keystone that wont just be abused by champions it isnt intended for. If we make fervor a thing again there are many Marksman that may just start taking it too, many junglers that arent really bruisers might start to use it as well. They want AD to feel better about themselves, but its really hard to find a way to give it to them.

The old PtA with infinite ad and 12% damage amp but gimp it for ranged

Abibyama1 votes

For skirmishers: The version of PtA back at PBE where it used give like 2 AD per auto and spellcasts but stacks infinitely and at 3 stacks gain 12% damage boost and 1 AD and 6% for ranged

For divers: Buff the AD ratio on Aftershock and nerf the resistance slightly less early but buff it slightly late

For Juggernauts: Reworked grasp back on PBE where it heals and give AD per hp or something like that

And I probably overbuffed the shit out of melees

Fervor for sure

A PtA like mastery but you get a smaller effect every auto. For example Basic attacks against enemy champions cause them to take 2% increased damage from all sources, stacks "infinitely", but each stack wears off after 6 seconds. Melee only of course.

What if it was basically bond of stone but increased healing and works on spell damage on them as well, then make it heal self only. Or like a three hit thing like electrocute PtA phaserush but you gain a 100% heal on your next auto or spell.
