Problems with the potions in the jungle

First off I want to start with Hunter's Potion. It's the weaker of the refillable line. It regens health much slower than a regular pot or a Corruption potion charge so it's not as good in the heat of battle. It's also next to useless for jungle sustain. You're much better off simply completing a jungle item. Once you compete a jungle item you take next to no damage in the jungle. If you're trying to stack devourer, completing a Hunter's potion will only put you behind. It puts you behind from the start because you can't take as many camps preventing you from getting the gold you need. The 400 gold itself is also preventing you from completing the Devourer.

Regardless of the bad build path into Hunter's potion, Refillable is simply a bad starting item. Refillable gives you 240hp while 3 pots give you 450. The discrepancy is even worse if you take the Culinary mastery. The jungler who bought 3 potions is going to have an inherent level advantage and pressure advantage early game. The jungler taking Refillable has no advantage. They get behind early and build it into a useless item that they'll have to sell later on anyway.

There are 2 ways to fix this in my opinion:

  1. Make the jungle items worse so Hunter's Potion is necessary.

  2. Make jungle monsters harder so Hunter's Potion is necessary.

Because right now the jungle is way too easy once you complete an item to ever warrant buying a Hunter's potion.

I really don't like either Solution. Your only going to make the Jungle feel worse, if you make Hunter's potion a necessity. (considering the price increase on Jungle items.)

The only change I could see working, that won't make it feel bad for a Jungler is if you gave it the %exp passive, similar to the other Jungle items. But that would ramp up the Jungler's Exp gain by way too much, once you combined tooth and nail.

And the very fact you have decent sustain once you combined both Jungle items means, that you won't need the sustain, out side of the early game. Which is why I still do well with just normal pots.
