Kaioko4 votesStarting with an insult what a way to create a good discussion. I never argued that other champs were not healthy, but there's no point in bringing a champion back that wasn't good for the game. Effort should be made to correct the other 40 like you pointed out.
I simply explained to OP why the old Galio's kit won't be coming back no need to jump at someone's throat who isn't even addressing you.

Galiö2 votesI disagree. He was perfectly healthy. Easily counters and is countered easily IN GAME. Not even in champ select..old.galio too strong get was for his one big CC or get a heal cut. Shorter windows of power. He can be ranged but his damage wasn't over bearing unless you get too close situationally.
He had great heal (and unique heal), amazing tankiness against physical and magic resist, decent poke but slightly gated by mana... He was a great champion.
Kaioko6 votesIf you played an AP champ that relied on constant damage you were basically screwed seeing as the shield would out heal the damage you dealt. Like you said the ult was too strong and therefore he had his other damage abilities gated which he would then just use to wave clear and not interact with his laner. The passive was also pretty dumb, if you were vs an AP laner you won vs an AD laner you lost (I hate Kassadin's one as well for that reason).
His identity also made no sense which Riot talked about. He was suppose to be this giant guarding statue that was tanky as hell. Instead people just saw him as a half baked burst mage. He had one of the lowest play rates in the game outside of like urgot pre rework.
Galiö2 votesOld Galio, imo and statistically, was better against AD champs. Old Galio was the only champ that was able to build around for both you and your opponent.
Against AD: build lost chapter and rush thornmail and W.
Against DoT: rush spirit visage
Need damage: Go full ap.
Against a Galio you had morello, executioner, qss and everything he did was either a big set up or a bait.
There was actually strategy involved. I'd legit pay Riot 50 a month just to have access of playing Old Galio.

How can you possibly argue with someone who doesn't even know what they're talking about? Like, can't you see how biased and angry at Galio these people are? All of their arguments about Old Galio is just brainless babble that everyone just LOVED to spread around. "Wasn't healthy. Countering someone without doing anything." Then they complain about the most unique shield in the game. Yeah, you're damn right it outhealed the damage people could do. It's almost like they don't know what lifesteal is- It's the same thing. Only, Galio had it on one of his ablities. It was awesome.
Ugh, like I said, people just don't understand. I know it's probably even harder for you than it is for me, but at least try to take solace in the fact that you were one of few people to take the time to learn, understand, and play one of the best designed champions released in 2010- One that would even hold up fairly well today. Also, it's nice to know that Riot has stopped completely removing champions like this altogether now, so I hope you can find some comfort in that. I know I can.

Now i.work 10 hours a day 5 days a week come home and play league to get mad then go to bed.

AlienPrimate1 votesNot everyone has the same play style. I can't stand playing any champion that is ranged or mechanically difficult. Galio was basically the only mage in the game who was melee and then they took his highly unique kit and opted to turn it into another generic tank that already exists in 10 other champions. The reason I liked him is because he was melee while also being a mage who could play as a tank if needed. What other champion fills that role for old Galio mains since he was deleted? I can only think of about 3 champions who fill a similar roll but none of them can reliably go middle lane and are more suited for top or jungle. I haven't touched middle lane outside of fill since Galio's rework because there is absolutely nothing left in middle lane that suits me.

Before the haters say that he was unbalanced, compare what I did in this video to anyone who starts off 11/1. Also, not a single one of them built any kind of grievous wounds until Ziggs had Morellonomicon.
