If LoL released in the state its in today, I don't believe it would have been nearly as successful.

Everything was a lot stronger.

However, they were significantly more balanced between seasons 1 and 4 than now, with the exception of preseasons and Riot's silly mid-year updates that fuck things up just as badly.

I don't agree tbh

We had the point and click silences on talon, lb and kass, which was ridiculous by today's standard. Only good botlane was graves leona botlane was decided by who died and lost bt stacks Towers didn't need minions to die, xin even healed off them toplane meta was gold per 5 item stack meta etc etc

We all like to look through our pink nostalgia glasses, I say if we went back to earlier seasons, it would be way worse

That's not to say today's permabans champs aren't ridiculous

Talon and lb were considered extremely weak back then.

Lacking counterplay doesn't mean something lacks balance.

DotA is by far a more balanced game and has less counterplay in most situations.

Graves Leona wasn't even a good bot lane. Leona Trist was. Taric Graves/Taric Ezreal was the meta bot lane. How does that make the game unbalanced though?

Towers pretty much always needed minions to die. They've had that defensive passive since season 1.

Top, jungle, and support were gp10 stacking. Doesn't make the game unbalanced, just less interactive.

Learn the difference between balance and interaction.

There's a BIG difference.

season 3 was perhaps the best balanced season IMO. then they started this BS with gutting and reworking everything (even if it was fine) and then they continually gutted jungle and turrets and yeah this game sucks now.

its stupid that there are four dragons but none of them are defensive. its stupid that you dont get smite buffs anymore (the gromp poison was great) its stupid that you cant play a squishy anymore because of all the 0-100 dive you champions that you cant kill its stupid that they decided nobody should be allowed to dragon at level 1 or 2 anymore

they still have terrible placements that assure you wont place where you were last season even if you do amazing, meaning you can escape bronze one season and get to s5 but if you dont get gold its back to bronze next season!

they still only focus on "toxic players" instead of banning feeders, afkers, trolls etc.

league is going into the gutter but its still fun to play. now and again. but there are multiple points wheres ive quit the game and then come back and quit again etc.

I'm going to say I don't agree.

Becuase a different sort of people would have been drawn to the game instead of the season 1 players.

The game would have continued from there.

I'd have to agree mainly because there are other games that have a slightly more appealing style to them like dota with its creep deny system and strife with its shared policy and hidden score untill end of the game (this allows people to focus on the game) I got to diamond in both dots and strife and got one account to plat in league but it got hacked, made a second and that one got hacked so I gave up on league
