Why doesn't Tiamat/Hydra apply on-hit effects with it's AoE?

Title, I'm convinced this is not a bad idea because the AoE is more useful for waveclear than it is for teamfighting.

It would help on-hit junglers and melee carries; classes that have been historically weak or broken. ( mostly weak )

This is more relevant after the item 3031 nerf, intended to diversify ADC builds from item 3087. It indirectly nerfed these guys Garen Gangplank Tryndamere Yasuo just to name a few.

What do you guys think? :)

Because it's on-HIT. Aoe is splash, not direct.

And on some melee carries, balancing would be a nightmare. (Remember Fiora's ult already was nerfed in the past? She would have to be gutted in order to compensate for the inevitable hydra+botrk+IE+PD+LW ult)

But Fiora's ult itself doesn't crit. It's just the item 3074 splash that is going to, and it's hits have their dmg reduced based on distance so.. So long people aren't standing next to each other, it should be fine.

Not, I'm referring to when she cleans up with two aa splashes that can crit and kill an entire team afterwards :/

Thing is, it'll add way too much dps to melee carries when they already have the damage for single-target assassination.

If they kill 1 target, they are not melee carries. They are assassins. ; and melee carries certainly are not assassins because they don't have the reliable escapes ( Khazix (E reset) Katarina Fizz Talon Zed Kassadin ) or the burst/strong pick ( Rengar Diana Akali TwistedFate )

They deal sustained damage.

When was the last time you took high Q damage from GP's item 3077 splash?

Keep in mind, damage to the initial target will not change. It's the cluttered/secondary champions that will be effected.

shrugs

Either way, anybody like Fiora is going to get nerfed hard if that happened. She's an assassin, but she's also an attack damage carry (despite being melee). She's just great at taking towers.

Because that would give AoE crits to everyone?

The range is very small, it would decay to 20% damage on the edge. For farming purposes yes, a high crit chance Tryndamere would destroy waves. But why would he buy item 3074 when item 3087 exists? Same as the item 3046 vs item 3087 previous argument for ADCs.

It would give him another option as Hydra is generally the waveclear item. item 3087 will serve better in teamfights, unless you're fighting like 3 bruisers for some reason... which then it would be niche and good for the game.

Doesn't hydra do that already??

YOU BEEN WARNED1 votes

No no, it only applies lifesteal. Shyvana and Nautilus do not proc their DoT passives off with the AoE splash, for example.

If this change does happen, Khazix can apply his passive to an enemy by hitting the adjacent minion.

oops i was thinking of the ranged one
