Wasn't the whole Idea of the rift heralds eye to discourage junglers 1 v 1ing it?

I remember reading when they were releasing the herald that the whole idea of its eye was to make it die quicker to multiple players, to make it a team objective.

I consistently 1 v 1 it as the jungler and hit the eye solo.

Isn't that completely against the idea of the eye?
