Diana: Sated Devourer > Runeglaive?

Serenity Now··2 votes·2,809 views

I really liked the prior iteration of Runeglaive on Diana, but after the AoE was removed (thanks Ezreal), it just doesn't feel as good in a fight anymore. I switched over to Sated Devourer in my last few games, and while the power spike comes later than the old Runeglaive, it actually feels better on her.

This just isn't right. Either Runeglaive got nerfed too hard or Sated Devourer is too strong.

runeglaive, she's a burst mage, not sustained damage

Runeglaive is terrible.

Runeglaive is terrible.

you're not that bright if you think runeglaive is bad at this point. After all the buffs, its a great item. keep up with the changes please

goodluck doing any damage at all with that. again Diana is a burst mage. The reason you build full AP is because you do lots of damage while becoming extremely tanky at the same time due to her shield. zero point using that build over a normal AP build on her

Diana's passive is as strong as a regular spell if not stronger. Sated fits her pretty well, but that's only if you're willing to sacrifice ALOT of early power for it.

Her passive became pretty monstrous with Devourer. With Nashor's + Arcane Blade the damage was horrendous and Dragon died so quickly

I agree.

Sated Devourer gives 60 magic damage plus 50% AS. Nashor's gives another 15 + 15% AP magic damage, 40% AS, and 80 AP. Arcane Blade adds yet another 5% AP magic damage. So we're talking 91 magic damage per auto-attack, and 90% AS.

Runeglaive gives 50 AP, and a an empowered attack (base AD + 30% AP) after an ability is used (on 1.5s CD). With Diana and her CDs, the empowered auto-attack will probably occur 2 to 3 times in a fight. With Nashor's we're talking 26 magic damage per auto-attack, 40% AS, and an additional 143 magic damage every 1.5s (at level 18).

Neither of these have taken her passive into account, which benefits from both AS and AP. It gives 250 + 80% AP every 3rd auto-attack (at level 18). For the above item pairs, that works out to 314 and 354 magic damage respectively.

On paper, the damage from these two paths is fairly close, but Sated Devourer feels more reliable and gratifying because of the increased AS.

Thank you.

I was asking myself this question. I have play Diana with runeglaive but I want to know what it would be with Devourer.

Ok then. Now, I just need to get more IP and try her with Devourer.

i suggest not listening to them. If you teamfight with devourer, you're just going to get CC and blown up. Dianas purpose is to blow up squishy targets. Runeglaive into other high Ap items is the way to go. not devourer with nashors. its bad compared to runeglaive and ludens for example

Are you suggesting Luden's over Nashor's ?

Are you suggesting Luden's over Nashor's ?

100% ya. Come teamfight time when you're grouping and dropping poke, ludens is way better. item 3111 or item 3020 depending on if they have lots of CC, item 3708 , item 3285 , item 3157 , item 3135 , item 3089

Way better build. Going devourer for the extra passive procs is pointless because your passive will just be doing A LOT less damage compared to a full AP build which makes you tanky at the same time. So instead of bursting a target down in under 2 seconds, you'll take way longer to do the same amount of damage going devourer. Makes zero sense

If the team has heavy AP, replace the ludens with item 3001. Can't take out hourglass because Diana is an all or nothing champ. Once she is in she is in so it helps for waiting for CDs to come back up

EDIT: Also know that Dianas passive has a .8 AP scaling. so going devourer with Nashor as your only AP item isn't going to add anywhere near as much damage. you get 60ish damage from nashor then runes and masteries so maybe around 80-90 extra damage. You go full AP with 700+ AP and that passive is hitting for 560+. you'd need to autoattack over 20 times to get the equal amount of damage from her passive with that devourer build. Def not the way to go

Would argue that without Nashor's, you're may be crippling your jungle clears. It takes a long time to get the AP components for Luden's, but the AS components for Nashor's are cheap.

That's not to say never get Luden's, but not necessarily as a second item.

her jungle clears are fine without it. Go rangers if you have to. Her Q with her W and passive alone clear insanely fast and with her shield, she won't be taking much damage. Start W - Q - W then max Q and you're golden

With ludens you're getting 40 more AP plus the proc from it's passive. combine that over all your skills and your passive and you're going to be putting out a lot more instant damage then you will with nashors

EDIT: Don't forget to you have the runeglaive proc for jungle clearing. just makes nashors not needed
