i'd love to know how sejuani has healthy play patterns

when you've centered her entirely around being a CC monster, but her best CC spell has a static 10 second cooldown per target

so you're telling me that i get to be cancer supreme for the start of a fight and then completely useless for 10 seconds despite playing optimally. i will contribute nothing but a nice, big health bar so I can stand in front of my ADC and die for them. most other champions who have that 'cooldown/target' mechanic don't have it as the crux of their kit and get to do significant stuff without it, or it's just a complimentary feature to what they do. not sejuani, though. because my CC -- which is now my only reason for existing, thanks riot-- is on that kind of mechanic, it doesn't matter in the slightest what I do afterwards, there's no way to 'improve' on the character after and there's no way to play better to get your CC out more often

all the people i stunlock really feel outplayed by the "difficult" W skillshot into double stun, and i feel great about playing a champion who has one outcome in every single fight; i stun one person and then i do nothing to that person. this is the gameplay that i love; i'm glad a diver-tank was turned into a jungling Leona, for some meme 'diversity' goal that made sejuani mains hate their champion and with sej not even ending up in a better spot. new sejuani manages to have less decision making than the old one and none of the fun that came with the previous kit

i'm really wondering how a guy like solcrushed who did such a good job on the first Viktor rework, turns around and does some complete clown shit like this

I miss my old Sejuani ./sigh. My guess as to why the screw up is that Sejuani is, or was (thank you class power spike update /sarcasm) suppose to be the late game tank queen whom was anti-marksmen. Well you can't have tanks that counter marksmen and get countered by mages, look at Rammus and Malphite. You also can't have late game tanks anymore, look at about 90% of the tank roster whom were late game gods due to the game changing group CC they brought, turned into mid game champions. So Sejuani got a screwed up rework for new screwed up rules. Since tanks have to be over tuned for mid game and such, it screws around with the bruiser and other fighters too. /sigh.

pre-rework Sejuani was basically a fulltank diver with an aoe stun ult. she didn't care about what her team did past the first ult; she wanted to run down the enemy team and kill squishies. other initiator-tanks wanted to CC them and either hold them down for their team to get to, or pull them to their team and cut out the middle man

i don't know why they made sejuani into this considering she doesn't even take up a unique space now. "single target lockdown tank" is already occupied by Leona Nautilus and you could probably argue Skarner TahmKench too. except besides Leona all of them have other virtues to be picked that don't rely on forcing your team to change their picks to suit you

Honestly sounds like she had the same fire and forget problem.

big difference between then and now

old sejuani at least had variable outcomes with her ult, anywhere between 0 and 5 people could be stunned or slowed. new ult stuns 1 person and the slow is now too trash to matter in any situation. she was a lot more flexible, in build and playstyle.

"ult bot" was never a problem, sej players never complained about base kit being weak (just boring) and enemies didn't mind her biggest threat being ult. riot should be embarrassed about making such a stupid claim, the real issue was her being too simple. and she's still too simple; barely above garen-tier of easy but now without the fun

Sejuani had exactly one problem pre-rework. She was too weak in the early game (pre-jungle item) to compete with Graves, Elise, Lee Sin and a few others who would counterjungle and keep her zoned out or outright kill her. She could rarely contribute to first blood on tower and was not very useful for Harold and Dragon. Mid-late game Sejuani was great but the game was already over before she got 2 items. They completely misunderstood what the community wanted from her.

i wanted them to do what they do with other good reworks: take what they have and build on it

instead riot just threw her old niche and her old values out the window and replaced it

Other difference too was after her justified ult nerf where she missed and results was 30% slow. After that needed nerf you had to plan out her out carefully and know the range and explosion radius. It was actually hard to hit. Before that nerf yeah it was fire and forget. After though was a different story. Now it is even worse you just stun one guy and smack em and try to go to the ADC to stun them. Though because her tankyness lasts only 3 seconds then she becomes a wet paper towel, she'll more than likely just die.

Well exactly she was the tank to try and group CC the enemy team and go around them to break that squishy ADC. As the game progressed her chances and power doing so increased exponentially. Reason she had a vulnerable early game. At least that's how I did it hehe. That's what made her different from the other tanks to me. She could break that 6 item marksman with her 6 items, hell I even broke Vaynes and Kog'maws alike. It was hard as hell and out in the open, but doable. Never could in the jungle with condemn or aoe slow. Now as you said she is basically another Leona and Nautilus. /sigh.

I personally aim fine with the current Sej. Biggest issue I've had is any melee pickers don't know they can apply stacks for me.

there's a visual indicator, what I dislike is the fact when you first pick sejuani and everyone goes a ranged champ item 3070

agbudar1 votes

ow god the pain.

then the next team went full melee potato champs and i felt like i was cheating away elo from my enemy team.

the most fun i had was when shields prevented her passive from being procced. i know it was busted but that was the most fun i had with new sej.

and now she is played in lcs so you can expect some serious sejuani nerfs... again

Another thing I miss on old Sejuani, being a tank. Now she is just a diver. Before I lead the charge! I was in the front deciding when to go in, or counter initiate. But most importantly I could tank the hits, especially later in the game, and in combat boosted the tankyness. So it promoted Sejuani to be pro active and fight. Now it is just the opposite.

Now I have to hope my passive is up, without it I'm a wet paper towel, with it I'm broken which isn't good because it soaks up all her tankyness. To make matters worse at least other divers, Leona, and Nautilus controls their tankyness. New Sejuani doesn't, the enemy team determines if her passive and being a tank is up, seriously? It's a very bad idea to have the opposition control your tankyness. Now I have little control to go in. Which is really the opposite of what a Vanguard or even a Diver is suppose to be. They're in control of the initiation, not the other way around.

This Sej rework is worthless, they said she isn't healthy because she is a R bot, so instead they made her an E bot now. Which not only feels shitty for both Sej and her opponent, but also removed her only hightlight in her life: 5 man R.

riot shills still no response :^)

Sejuani's winter wrath passive should only effect enemy champions recently effected by one of her spells within the last 4 sec. Frost stacks should only last 4 sec.

If they did that they might be able to reduce the target CD or at least make the E cast slow instead of stun on targets that currently have the CD on them.

What ur team needs to do is capitalize on stunned targets and that's easier to do, when there's a clear signal to do so : Which wud be using an ability on a champion.

Escheton1 votes

There is a clear signal. 4 stacks. That person is about to be point and click stunned.

I see ur point but ur only addressing ONE aspect of my point. The four stacks IS indeed an indicator, but that's not my focus. My focus is on finding ways to improve Sej's gameplay by taking some power out of the passive and putting it elsewhere. Additionally the 1st ability being an indicator for the allies about the stun ENHANCES the incoming 4 stack indicator into the stun. The more heads up allies have the better. It also really improves on her warlord theme that Riot was looking to sharpen, because its like Sej is telling her allies who to attack.
