We should have our MMR shown in the client somewhere.

As far as I know, we don't have MMR available. I usually use OP.GG but I'm skeptical after it said my smurf's MMR was at Gold 3, won a game, and it said Gold 5.

No bro, then they wouldn't be able to put shit players in your team after a win streak

hi im seb2 votes

there shouldn't be a hidden MMR in the first place i mean if we get matched with ppl our mmr why should i care about my rank in the first place if i play like a bob and drop from g2 to g5 but now have a s2 mmr i wanna SEE that shit.clinging to that god damn gold may secure my season rewards but it fails to show my skill, which afaik is the purpose of the whole thing anyway

op.gg only looks at the ranks of you team mates and enemies and estimates your mmr like that

We just need that feature. It's beyond me playing my dia 4 promos for example and getting a bunch of plat 1/2 in my game/team with even under 50% average winrate and people tell me my mmr is just bad but when i look the entire match up the enemies are pretty much all "higher" d5 or d4 while my team is entirely D5 and high plat ??? Just give us fucking mmr so i can check where i am and understand matchmaking but i guess if that happened people would realise that it is rigged by its core.

It is hidden for a reason so you can't prove that matchmaking is fixed.

It's hidden since preseason 3 so you can feel a sense of pride and accomplishment climbing the ladder.

I'm jesting with the quote, but that's literally the reasoning they used in Season 3 as an excuse for making the ELO (now MMR) hidden.

It's been a long time but couldn't you look up other people mmr and riot removed it because of that? Like they removed everyones ping except for yourself? I thought they pulled this excuse as if it were too hard to show mmr on your profile only.

Yes, you could. It was as available as your tier and division are now. Just pop into somebody's profile and see their exact ELO which was a 4 digit (unless you were the equivalent of nowaday's, I dunno, Bronze 3 or below) number.

The official excuse was, I paraphrase "It may seem disheartening competing against all players on the same server [there was only one ranking per server], so in order for ya all to feel a sense of pride and accomplishment we introduce Ladders, because it totally fucking matters that now you are going to 'compete' against 50 players instead of 500000. Oh, we also rebranded ELO to MMR, which is invisible, but still determines who you will play with, lawl, not to mention you and your friends are more likely to get placed in the same League."

More or less that was the excuse.

I could look for the exact quote, but fuck me sideways, I don't care and it's funnier this way.
