So how's ranked gonna work when the season starts?

I'm gold 4 right now and steadily climbing, getting about 20-22 LP per game, only losing like 17--18.

Hypothetically, if I end up at gold 2 or gold 1 by the end of preseason, is it gonna be some similar bullshit as last season where I go 8-2 in placements and get placed like 2 full tiers below that?

I was Silver 1 with 96 LP at the end of the last pre-season, did my gold promos like 7 times. (Thousand yard PTSD stare.....)

Had gold 5 MMR at the end of the pre season, and went 8-2 in placement matches and got placed bronze 3. I about had an aneurysm. Is that kind of shit gonna happen this time around, too?

If I'm gonna have to climb out of bronze no matter what, I don't even see the point in trying to raise my MMR before the season kicks off.
