i don't think darius needs direct nerfs

at least, the passive nerf isn't. he was overbearing because of CoC and the top lane meta the last few patches

the top meta briefly switched to almost entirely tanks thanks to how CoC worked. Darius's biggest counters Gnar Quinn have been phased out, and Darius himself is a strong counter to most if not all tanks, especially Poppy who is also getting nerfs, as well as Yasuo, who's very popular top lane

CoC also made Darius much better at trading with champs that counter or go even with him Riven Fiora Jayce Gangplank Sion Rumble Pantheon Swain etc. the shield made his losing matchups way more forgiving as well as turning even matchups into his favor (most of these champs can't or don't want to use CoC, giving him a one-sided advantage)

also that champs that used to beat him in lane Jax Renekton have been neutered and lose to him solely because they're just bad right now.

CoC is the biggest reason for his winrate going up; it's already been slowly dropping off, and further nerfs to the keystone will see his winrate stabilize back to 50% as it's been for roughly a year.

i don't think Darius should be nerfed in the same patch that we nerf CoC; in my opinion, he is balanced very well right now, it's the keystone that pushed him over the top.

I think he does.

He had a relatively high win rate even before CoC.

only around 51-50% before CoC

jumped like 2 points after top became tank meta again

A champion with such an extreme weakness should not be 50-51%.

So many other champions have shown this, and Darius doesn't get to be an exception for some unknown reason.

extreme weakness? he's fairly well put-together

Juggernauts are all considered to have on binary, polarizing weakness: kiting.

They are considered feast/famine by that nature.

The large majority of champions cannot kite Darius well enough to make that weakness meaningful.

other juggernauts are not very well designed, though, mostly for that reason of binary gameplay. especially the recent ones, illaoi and yorick

Darius is harder to kite once he's in hook range but he still gives you options to fight him in melee. he's a lot more forgiving up until he gets 5 stacks. he's more weak to heavy disengage than anything; but that's not really common in top lane, since stuff like that tends to be on supports and mid laners.

Darius isn't well designed either.

Either you fight him and he wins, or you don't and he gets advantages off that.

That's exactly how it works unless you happen to have champs that are capable of kiting him or invalidating his gimmicks.

The large majority of champions cannot deal with him.

it's pointless to post here friend, board went from "darius is balanced" to "darius is overpowered" in 2 weeks

Its such a tragedy. For an entire year, everyone praised darius's design, complaint threads usually got guttered with downvotes, every time, and all of a sudden people think darius is the problem instead of CoC.

This board seems to be full of gnats.

considering the heavy coc nerfs, the nerfs to his kit are uneccessary.
