oblivion orb rush after sorcerer shoes if you intend to poke the enemy into submission

If you are winning lane/the enemy team has tanks, go full ap and shred their frontline for your team, aside from securing kills, your ult + passive are notoriously good at turning full health tanks into squishies that your team can just run over.

There's pen builds and AP builds. I personally am not a fan of the AP, I feel it comes online too late because ludens is so expensive. For pen, my standard rush is: Sorcs > orb > situational (supp item to frost fang when convenient, usually after Sorcs but can be before. Upgrade to revenant after like, 5-6 items. It's not worth much) If the enemy has healing, finish the nomicon; if either team is reliant on slow engages, twin shadows; if they've got a 1 combo pick mage/assassin, grab banshees; for heavy divers/assassin's where you're the pick condition (i.e. If you get picked, fight is lost), grab zhonyas; if you're fed out of your mind and they don't have a pick threat, rabs/mejais; if you've dominated lane and an enemy bruiser is similarly fed (especially tk and shit), grab a liandries; and finally if you're the hard carry of the team, and the other teams also got 1 person hard carrying that you just can't quite kill, grab a spellbinder.

Rylais is almost never worth it, sometimes makes it as a 5th item where you think next fight is the game ender, and you just need that 95 AP stat stick. Void is only for when squishies buy a lot of mr, for tanks you're just going to be true damaging them to death anyway.

As supportkoz you only get 3 items, since 3 slots are supp item, boots, and control wards, so picking them well is super important.

Take glacial agument, get item 3092 item 3020 item 3030 and then either item 3151 or item 3905 depending on wether you need more raw fighting power or better scout/catch potential.

As support, you have more freedom to use AAs, allowing glacial to set up your E+W combo in th early lane, and it synergieses great with hextech gpl and twinghosts. GPL is a very costefficient item anyway and much better for supports than ludens(unless you get early feed), and liandries just adds alot to your poke for the gold while makeing you slightly less of a oneshot.

This built will give you more controll at the cost of some early poke damage.

Normally I rush a blasting wand into either a rod of ages or morello depending on the situation, I personally dont find MP too important on vel'koz unless you're inconsistent on Qs and reading enemy reactions, because all it takes is one maybe two passive procs on either laner and they're out of lane unless they're about to start inting.

I prefer a rod of ages due to its overall scaling and cost, then I normally make something like a deathcap as my second item, beyond there its a flavor of the situation sort of deal. Now yes, deathcap seems odd but its entirely just to fuel the passive procs that you can normally get 2-3 off any ult which will more often than not 100-0 anyone who isnt a tank or a fed bruiser.

Usually I get a fight forced or chunk the enemy out of lane via a combo around the same time I have 450 to immediately upgrade my knife.

Soon after I get my blasting wand and the lane usually becomes one sided unless my adc is inting or the enemy mid and jungle are camping. Tends to happen when they see a vel'koz with only 45k~ ish mastery at m7.

(boots I'm in preference to swifts because as said, theres no need for magic pen in my opinion, cooldown boots would be alright as well but I always run ult hunter)

Hope this helps, good luck. Q well. Teemo
