Huge Problem in a Lot of Players

This has nothing to do with my recent games but it's a trend I've noticed. A LOT of players tend to do this, thought it'd be good food for thought. Players over-stay all of the time. Tell me how familiar this sounds.

THE MISTAKE

  1. Your team consists of a large quantity of melees and has poor sieging ability.

  2. Your team just got 2 or 3 kills on the enemy, all went mid and tried to force tower. Because of the number advantage, you secure the tower.

  3. As a result of the forced play and ensuing teamfight, your team is fairly low on health, and because you haven't backed yet, the gold advantage doesn't yet matter.

  4. Your team decides to stay mid and continue pushing rather than ward the enemy jungle to prep for future plays (Free vision advantage), secure dragon while they push the accumulated wave back or simply return to heal and gear up.

  5. The enemy team respawns with their new items and mops up, getting 2 kills for free.

  6. Now with a number advantage against wounded enemies, they force a tower for free.

I see this type of situation all of the time, and I never really understood it. If you cannot realistically take a tower down, why line up mid and walk back and fourth outside tower range? All you're doing is risking death. That's just it. You have a high risk and extremely little chance of reward. It makes so little sense that it mystifies me that it's so prevalent. What do you hope to gain? There's NO WAY you're sieging that tower. Go make a play somewhere else, or at least go after an outside tower instead of that inner middle,...

The main difference (possibly the only one) between Solo and Team Queue, is Solo has a severe lack of communication. This fault leads to a lot of misplays, bad calls, lack of rotation, bad team comp, so on and so forth. There really isn't any way to get around that without each player making an effort to communicate beginning at the first ban.

I agree. What is tough, though, is that it takes a lot of prodding to get some people to ditch their old habits. I've had teams that talks with one another and discusses plans, and other times I've had people ignore me entirely to do what they're used to doing every single match as if it's a static game.

I have had just a couple teams that initiated communication with each other from the get go, and we stomped the enemy and were accused of being a high elo smurf premade each time. The difference is glaringly obvious, but of course I myself am very uncommunicative aside from pings so I can't fault anyone for being quiet.

Yeah, this is a problem at all MMRs. Greed kills.

Yeah I know but sometimes it seems like people are doing something just because other people do it rather than think about why they're doing it in the first place. If they can't come up with a good reason to be doing it, why do it? It blows my mind.
