A reminder that this is a team game
So last night I had a game where we decided to have a support top and bottom. I was mid as Brand.
The enemy Riven I guess started getting her ass kicked and said in allchat "You all just suck. You couldn't face me 1v1.". I replied to her, "Unfortunately for you, this is a team game.".
It's disturbing how many people forget that part. You always have someone who thinks they're hot shit in a champagne glass and proceeds to get pulverized because they refuse to cooperate. Too many people see teamwork as a one way street heading in their direction, and are so blinded by their self-centeredness that they see every slight as some attempt to troll them. This can go to very extreme levels.
We have to start stamping down on this lone wolf mentality because it's well past the point of self-destruction. It's gotten to the point where everyone wants to go AD melee assassin and nobody winds up doing any damage or claiming any kills, AKA the ONE JOB the assassin has, let alone claiming objectives or pushing or defending lanes. I'm tired of seeing myself dealing more damage than the Yasuo mid main AS THE SUPPORT without building a single damage item, and pushing all the lanes, smashing all the towers, laying down all the wards, and generally being one serious vital lifeline to the team while people simply refuse to help if the enemy decides to gang up on the load bearer. I'm breaking my back doing more jobs than the support is reasonably expected to do while you obsess over your KDA, MMR, ELO, what OTHER people's meta stats are while doing absolutely nothing yourself. And you wonder why you get stuck with "Bronze V (massive fleet of expletives)".
