The reason why I still view Aatrox as a failure

To compare Riven & Aatrox

In most case and scenarios Riven has a few different combos to do depending on the situation, she can either fight for safety and security or aggressive and risk a lot for a good reward. She has a formula that isn't A+B=C . . . she can do A+B=C or B+A = C or A + B + A^2 = C etc

But Aatrox formula isn't like Riven in that sense. Aatrox is: Do a butt fuck ton of damage because you can't perform anything else better than other champions. The ability to be fluent for Aatrox is destroyed by the rework in the sense that you NEED to hit your W in most cases to finish your Q but you need to land an ability before you can use your W. If anything messes with this SPECIFIC formula for the champion you need to wait again for your chance to perform. While Riven is fluent, Aatrox is . . . predictable.

In this sense, I value Riven because of her ability to be consistent in comparison to Aatrox's ability to devestate somebody just by doing ' a lot of damage. ' Just because you decided to give Aatrox absolutely stupid and retardedly high numbers doesn't mean the rework was a success. Raw numbers isn't a successful design, more so, the ability for a champion to co-exist with their kit in a fluent and natural way.

It's why this champion felt amazing pre-rework (Not the modern re-work that we know of.)Akali and then absolutely shitty after the rework. Her abilities no longer existed to benefit each other, instead, you were forced to auto attack. And it felt clunky and awful. The ability to E your Q made shroud amazing to use in a combo.

Riven is a graceful, mobile fighter while Aatrox is a juggernaut (not sure if he's labeled as such but he is basically) It's not a good comparison.

With that said I still want the old Aatrox back.

Juggernauts come with innate tankiness and lack of mobility, Aatrox lacks all of those except just doing a lot of damage.

They intended to turn him into a juggernaut.

Aatrox's tankiness comes from his healing and ult, he doesn't go down easily and he easily tanks and lives a lot of dives.

Mobility isn't a complete defining trait of juggernauts, Urgot, more or less target access, which aatrox sorta lacks with his low mobility that barely allows him to go over terrain.

So basically Salt about things you have no control over.

Doesn't sound like a failure when new Aatrox is still a high pick/ban in proplays & still maintains quite a high pickrate in public servers, despite the 46% winrate.
