Goodbye LoL. I'm playing Heroes of the Storm from now on.

I just picked up HotS recently. What a much better game it is, at least for me!

-Characters are far more interesting. If it's one thing I despise about LoL, it's that the champions are too generic. A lot of them couldn't get anymore complex than "you use Q as a skillshot poke, W as a steroid or another damage, E as an escape or CC, and R as a finisher." In HotS you have very interesting characters, like one that can act as a symbiote for one of your allies. That's something that LoL has never explored, even after 120 champions that have been released.

Most importantly though, no items. This means no last hitting, and no such thing as one enemy being "fed". I LOVE this. This means that turn-around plays are much easier to do, and something as small as taking a mercenary camp can dictate whether you win or lose the game no matter how far you are. One thing I hate about LoL is that if one of your enemy carry gets fed, there is really NOTHING you can do.

Don't get me wrong,t here are "carry"-based characters in HotS that are labelled as "assassins". But they won't be able to 1v5 your team.

Herm.. so you are playing a game that need no personal skill? Everyone is leveled up! Sound like a kinder garden olympics. Everyone gets a chance to be special.

By the way, you contradicted yourself. "and something as small as taking a mercenary camp can dictate whether you win or lose "

"No last hitting"

Last hitting aka farming is a micro thing you do that impacts the game. See the difference between a top laner/mid/adc with 4 kils 100 cs and a 0 kills 200 CS.

Anyway, be happy with your game.

I thought about trying it, but I looked at the gameplay videos and it seems so sluggish and boring. At least with league there are more competitive aspects than purely out picking your team or getting the "assassin" type characters. There's so much counter play in League that many people don't understand like proper builds.

HotS is fun, but I don't think of it as a League replacement. They designed everything to avoid player frustration, which is kinda nice, but there's little sense of individual value because of it.

I think people are too connected to the game they play. You can play both... it IS allowed in life! The one thing I noticed about HotS is that it's NOT a stress full game. I personally took a break from league because of the amount of stress it delivers. I play games to have fun not to be yelling at 3 year olds. League is a great game but I think they can learn a lot from Hots in terms of asthetics, UI and player management.

Enjoy yourself, the HotS fad will probably be short lived as Blizzard provides very poor followup service for their games. Not to mention it just looks like a very boring design.

Smite is fun like league except more skill is required because you actually need to hit your basics and aim then . also 3rd person

I had a lot of fun playing HOTS. I go back and play it every now and then. I like how the different maps make each game feel vastly different from the last. The team shared XP adds a lot to the game as well I think. It's nice playing a "support" character and not feeling like the weakest squishiest piece of junk in the game.
