As exciting as all of the new stuff is

I can’t help but feel a little disappointed that Damage/snowball meta is still not being addressed. Was really hoping that they’d finally do something about it this preseason. Instead we’re getting another fancy gimmick added to summoners rift.

No change to resistances, damage keystones not touched (apart from Conq) and mage itemisation not being touched.. Towers still useless past 14 min and Baron buff will still end the game in a single push most games.

I’m excited as hell for all of the new stuff, but barely anything happening balance/gameplay wise is rather disappointing.

If anything the changes for the most part all point to the winning team winning even harder resulting in more one-sided matches.

What you don't like RNG maps with a chance of extra bushes for rengar to maul your ass or a dragon giving executes.

Balance is hard. Sound and fury are easy.

The mountain drake will give resistances instead of bonus damages Conqueror will not deal true damages anymore

So tanks will probably be more played, so it will lower the damages in the game.

Most of the new stuff makes money, fixing damage creep doesn't. Heck, it might lose them money as people don't buy skins and emotes and such to... dab...on the enemy team.

I agree. My hopes for a slower-paced meta have been shattered yet again.

No damage changes No mobility changes No snowball changes

They do not listen to their player base.

Settsation10/16/2019, 5:05:20 PM6 votes

Actually, it kinda has been. Lots of the items and runes that have made characters snowball are either being either changed or removed completely, mostly the dreaded Spear of Shojin finally hitting the road. Conqueror, who has been problematic for ages and has made it almost impossible to tanks to even exist, is finally getting changed to do only adaptive damage rather than true damage. Dont get me wrong, it's not a total fix to the issue, but it's definitely a huge step in the right direction to keep snowball characters like Riven, Fiora, Jax, etc smacked down a notch.

The whole thing was riot expanding not riot fixing.

you gotta realize that last nights stream WASNT the official preseason video, there will probably be more things addressed in the upcoming weeks. As for people mad about dragons, the game has not really changed at all in the last 10 years.

Season 10 looks like total garbage.

This means that pre-season 8 AND pre-season 9 haven't taught you anything :/ They are not able, and they don't want, to change this mindless meta. It's (mainly) intentional, and aims for a specific kind of playerbase.

Also, I'd bet how all their new stuff is gonna end (--> TFT... and they called it "Tactics", btw :D).

NelsieLisnen10/16/2019, 5:41:25 PM2 votes

Spear of Shojin removed, Conq nerfed, Klepto nerfed, solo XP boosted, bot XP nerfed, Aftershock buffed for tanks, Drake that gives resistances. That's a pretty good start imo.

it's very simple, riot gave up on league

they dont care about this game, its very apparent by them just making the lowest common denominator the focus of balancing, just 1 shot the enemy team, dont think just 1 shot

its clear they stopped caring about league and went to develop new games because "why fix a broken lightbulb when you can just buy a new house" why balance league so it can be enjoyable again when we can just make a new game

I think a simple solution would to go through all of the runes and just lower the damage it offers, not by much but enough. All champs will get these changes so all it should really do it lower damage. No extra balancing needed of champs. Optimistic, they are more likely to add extra damage to runes that don't need it like they did with Zombie Ward and Ghost Poro. :P

If anything theyre buffing snowball culture

Wínters Dawn10/17/2019, 2:14:01 AM1 votes

I think what people don't get is riot isn't trying to solve the snowball meta. This is exactly how they want it

SammyDayspring10/17/2019, 2:14:20 AM1 votes

There are a few good thinks (Shojin removed finally). Overall I would say they are biting off way more than they can chew. They can't manage the game they have. I don't know why they think it is a good idea to create even more. It is an obvious money grab.

all i see is them releasing too much at once to try to replace blizz's ip's. and theyre all gonna wind up as heroes of the storms noone gives a shit about
