I have never been demoted from a tier ex: from gold to silver, but I believe I read it can only happen if your mmr drops a tier. So for gold you can only get demoted if your mmr drops to silver 5 level? I also read something about a warning if your mmr gets too low?
Not to be paranoid just really don't want to get demoted out of gold. At the same time I don't feel like not playing ranked games for the next 6-7 months.

Randomonium1 votesYes you can get demoted, but it's much more difficult than just dropping a division. I've lost quite a few games at 0 LP and not been demoted to the lower tier. It all really depends on what your MMR is. If you're in gold but you have silver MMR (even silver 1 MMR) and you keep losing then you could get demoted.
On a positive note, if you ever get demoted you get a free win once you get back to your promotional series (so you only need to win 2 out of 4 instead of 3 out of 5.)
Dukues1 votesGuess I am not that worried about it just curious. I really hate doing promos, especially gold promos. Took 4 times last season and 3 times this season to win promos. Really don't want to have to do that shit again haha.
