Real Nasus mains don't like when their champ is FOTM
Put the Q cdr on R to 20/35/50 % already, no need to win all ins at 6.

doubt a Nasus main is mad about beeing relevant before 20mins.

Actually the whole point of the champ's identity is to feel like a shonen protagonist where you suck balls early and progressively become a god at later stages.

Thats so season 3. There is no late game now. Also Nasus isnt a late game champion never was. He is far too easily kited by normal IQ players.

This. Nasus is not a late game champion, he is mid game, when people are still building stuff, and he is strong enough to 1vs3 easily. Late game, he is only good for one shotting towers. This is assuming every player on every team is a normal human being with a proper functioning brain, which may not always be the case.
Honestly he is probably right. It's not about being relevant, it's about having your pick actually get banned from you. For a while a Nasus main could just play Nasus over and over, with the largest threat to their pick being auto fill. The moment it becomes easy for regular players to play their champ the bans start coming in, and having to fall back on the backup champions of a one trick is not particularly fun.
