Galio is overpowered.

So basically the title speaks for itself. I'm not without proof though. After that match I decided to take some screenshots of how it went down. So Galio in that match was on the front lines. Most of what he did was tanking our damage vs using his Q ability. Ok so http://imgur.com/a/B26CI

Shows that galio did 22177 damage to champions vs caitlyn who did 21108l and twitch who did 17280 The score's are pretty even.

Now let's look at builds, because builds make all the difference.

There they are. Galio has item 3029 (which was at about 9 stacks at the end), item 3111 item 3065 item 1031 item 1057.

Now I just want to focus on item 3029 because the rest are all tank items. so item 3029 gives 100 ap full stack, 400 mana full stack and and 500 hp full stack if my math is correct.

Ok now let's look back at galio's build. He has no magic pen items.

Now let's look at his runes.

http://imgur.com/a/AjN8c

Standard page at 7.8 magic pen.

Now let's look at the damage behind the champ. as far as base stats go.

60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 (+ 75% AP)(that's when it lands)

ok moving on

10 / 13.3 / 16.7 / 20 / 23.3 (+ 20% AP) (+ 2% of target's maximum health) per HALF SECOND for 1.5 seconds

total tornado damage,which I believe at max rank is 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 (+ 60% AP) (+ 6% of target's maximum health)

This champ doesn't need to be gutted. His numbers need to be brought down, because that's quite ridiculous how galio can just build one offensive item and go the tank. I was going to get a sample clip from that game, but I think the numbers speak for themselves.

Because its Aram and he has the better poke ability compared to twitch and cait. He does more AOE and %HP damage causing his number to be inflated to.

%hp damage is a bad idea for tanks.

Why? Generaly speaking, it gives them a modest amount of laning power. Otherwise they are to vulnerable to being outlaned by semi tanky bruisers. Also if it werent %HP then tank vs tank would just be 100% wet noodle fight. %HP is the best way to give them a level of laning power, because it allows them to stand up against there bruiser counterparts without being oppressive to squishes. Its also a way to exert pressure without being overbearing.

Tanks without %HP damage would need absurd base damage numbers. Old champions have that, like Cho and Malphite. Cho just recently got a % damage in his kit and his base damage was pushed down by a fuckton.

The problem is that high base damages fall off significantly past a certain point in the game, making the champion nothing more than a CC bot. This isn't satisfying to play as in the slightest, especially if you have other options that stay relevant later on.

A % damage guarantees the champion stays relevant and yet the damage can be easily tuned if it becomes too strong or too weak. Most of the time the most damage in these abilities is locked behind certain conditions. In Cho's example he has to be in melee range or clip somebody with the projectiles that don't have that much range either. Galio Q is a little harder to dodge, but unless you have already been combo'd it doesn't hit you for longer than two ticks, meaning most of the damage didn't even hit you. You can walk out of it, it's fair.

The thing with tanks and % health damage is that riot seems to love making it %max health. It should be % current health if anything. The idea behind being tanky is that you don't like dying, but you lose a lot of damage. Going full offensive items you risk being squishy and dying easier, but you can pop off a lot of damage. Also a lot of tanks these days have % damage reduction to add onto their kits. Guess i'll see what season 8 has to offer.

Not that many people play him, so his popularity is low.

That's where you're getting it wrong. The fact that he has a low winrate AND a low playrate makes it even more clear how garbage he actually is. He doesn't even have mains with above average winrates in high elo to bring up his total winrate. You're complaining about a champion not only that's been nerfed to hell and back already, but you're complaining about him because he kicked your ass in an ARAM. Galio does fuck all without smart team behind him, which means either his team was very smart, or you guys played like idiots
