Stop giving CertainlyT so much shit.

What's CertainlyT threads got to do with atheism?

Absolutely nothing, but everyone knows r/atheism is a legion of circlejerkers that qq about everything, same with r/fedoratipping, etc. It has nothing to do with religious beliefs, I thought that was obvious..
Not everybody cares about Reddit.
Players will stop "giving CertainlyT shit" when he stops filling the game with shit. Firing him would be a quick, simple way to solve that problem. Personally, I'd rather have him "monitored" by more reasonable designers-- he'd get to keep his job, and we might stop seeing balancing-abominations like Yasuo and Kalista.

Well, that too.
How they didn't keep a tighter leash on him after Thresh is fucking beyond me.
They had one but he used it to make Thresh.
Honestly his designs were genius thresh was probably one of the best designed champs to ever be released. Do I even get started on how smooth it is to play yasuo it just feels right.
True that. Balance-wise they might be in a... less than desirable spot, but all of his champions just play right.
Compare that to Ekko who just throws all the shit at you in a random order.
Remember it's not the designer who chooses numbers for a champion.
Fucked up a few times? There isn't a single champion that he's designed that hasn't had major balance issues.
is immune to significant nerfs and has been the top support in every meta and every team comp possible since he was introduced to the game
was broken on release, had to be gutted to be manageable, is now super binary and getting a full rework
had to be HOTFIXED because she was that broken on release, dominated as support for 2 full seasons straight, and had to be stripped of so many things to stop being broken that she's gone
self-explanatory, absolutely broken by design and will remain that way until he suffers the same fate as Darius and Zyra
do I REALLY need to elaborate?
I'm not saying fire him from Riot - I'm saying take him the hell away from champion designs.

He's reworking Mordekaiser
Zyra was good for 1 season which was s3 never was really good in s4z
Would everyone stop putting Zyra in these lists?
a) She wasn't developed by CertainlyT (though he helped a little.) b) She was only numerically overpowered at release, which was quickly fixed by number turning. Her kit was never super-toxic.

Champions being extremely under- or over-powered on release is actually fairly common. They're getting better at it, but it still happens. Most recently Bard was generally considered to be extremely underpowered on release, but because they missed the mark too low instead of too high, he didn't need hotfixing.
Yeah, the CDR is a bit random. I kind of understood why they did it (the skill doesn't really do much, so it often isn't levelled until last), but... yeah. They should have put that strength somewhere else instead of giving her somewhat hidden power with free CDR.
thresh was very strong on release. but hes not the one taking care of the numbers. (certainly T) darius received two very very minor nerfs. to his Q dmg and bleed dmg ratio. binary also doesnt make sense in the context you put it. Zyra was very very strong cause she had lots of every type of difficulties, altho difficult to pull off at max potential and immobile. again, hes not the one puting in the numbers. Yasuo was bullshit on release. but his design was very complex to pin point to the inexperienced balance team then (scaryzard said s4 and prior they had 3-4 guys and now they are like 20)
Kalista has lots of ways to beat. but i play in plat. so i dunno how it is higher than that. but usually the lower elo folks who complains.

Thresh's strength doesn't lie in numbers. His kit isn't too good because his numbers are too good, his kit is too good because it's been given way too many tools for 1 champ. He could literally do 0 dmg and still be a top pick. The problem is that CertainlyT overloaded his kit - like he did on all of his champ designs.
Kallista has an above 50% **ban rate **in the pro scene atm. Please tell me more about how only lower elo folks find her problematic.
sorry you dont jus gut half my mains and say more changes are coming to more champs i love just cause he says "we want diversity"
Raging at CertainlyT right now is horrible. It's bad, and you should feel bad for doing it. Wait for the patch to come out first, or for CertainlyT to finish his work on the changes, then you may complain. But keep it together, and don't just turn it into a ragefest.
I would also like to go on the record saying that there are quite a few changes coming in the next patch that I really dislike aswell. I'll be sure to express what they are when I see an opportunity to though.

is all you need to complain about him as a designer
You can absolutely complain about a final product. But designers have to learn about the scope of the game, and Kalista and Yasuo do have pretty fun designs behind them. The problem arises in the concept having a lot of flaws, in that it crowds out a lot of popular picks. I believe that Yasuo can be made to be perfectly balanced, but Kalista probably can't, and Thresh has too much utility (especially dark passage) to really create a healthy champion around.
But most people are complaining about changes in the PBE. Which is fine. Make your voice heard. But don't just complain about him needing to "be fired" or any silly ideas like that. There is a lot of work that has to be done when you are designing a champion, and the last thing you want is for every concept that you make to have massive backlash from a quite frankly minor proportion of the League community. It must be such a downer, and the reason that he probably avoids the forums now.
Minor proportion?
I wonder how many people who play this game actually enjoy the existence of Kalista?
Kalista mains I suppose.
Just so you know, my favourite champion in the game is Mordekaiser, who is both completely destroyed by Kalista, and is getting these absurd changes on the PBE. I do know that everyone on the forums is a minority. In the same way that players who play ranked are also still a minority (around 20%). Their voices definitely matter, but they are still the minority, and a vocal minority at that.
Well, that true, but the players who a) play ranked and b) are Platinum level or higher are supposedly the ones that Riot balance towards the most.

if higher lvl of play was what they balanced around
would've been gutted a long time ago
I did say "supposedly".
He makes fun to play champions, at the expense of the fun of the enemy laner.
I can guarantee you that nobody has walked into a Kalista+Thresh lane and not groaned.
I don't care about all the other shit he's worked on, I have no problem with it. But Mordekaiser's rework is crossing the line.
The problem most people have with CertainT is that he does quite a few major things wrong.
The rage fest directed at CertainlyT reminds me of the rage in WH 40K directed at Matt Ward.
Who?????
I think most of his champs were ok. Yasuo was overloaded as hell but I never had trouble playing against him, he's fun to play as and against from my experience.
Kalista was a fucking abomination and after that I hope he burns in a fire and will grab my pitchfork and join the rest of the people who are hoping he gets fired from Riot.
IMO His biggest issue is that his champions suck to play against. If he could get that out of the way people would start to get off his ass.
I am going to keep giving him shit until he actually decides to reply to his own feedback thread regarding Mordekaiser.
I don't wish him to quit his job - that still goes to Lyte - but he isn't making it easy for people to like him either.
When you start a thread with "feedback" in the title, then proceed to ignore everything different than "why", you can't expect people to be happy and ultimately that's the point of making video games. To make people happy.
He tries to force his vision on people instead of actually listening to them.
Since the juggernaut rework hit PBE that's what CT did about Mordekaiser:
In other words: He did absolutely nothing.
He fucked up a few times on a game and now you want him fired from his job? Take your qq threads to r/atheism or r/fedoratipping please.
If a McDonalds server is constantly getting orders wrong and generally is bad at their job, they get fired.
I don't dislike any of CertainlyT's finished designs except Kalista, but why should he be held to a different standard than a McDonalds worker, if people genuinely believe all of his champions are badly designed?
Oh, and the Mordekaiser rework is an abomination, and his decision to ignore feedback is idiotic.
