Baron is basically an auto win LOL.

"Let me just go roam bot for a quick kill. Ziggs just backed, the wave is pushing towards his inner tower, and is past his outer already. Plus it has two cannons in it. My turret is also full health, so even if he gets to it, I'm fine." Gets about to drake pit "Your turret has been destroyed!" "Oh, fuck, he pushed way faster than I thought, let's back and get to mid. Sorry, botlane." Literally 5 seconds later "Your turret has been destroyed!" Finally recalls, gets to inhibitor turret just in time to see Ziggs destroy it.

Every. Single. Fucking. Time. Against. Ziggs. It's literally worse than Nasus or Tryndamere. You back or roam against those two, and you just lose a turret. Back against Ziggs? You lose at least a turret and a half. Roam? You lose all of them.

Okay. Let's put it like this:

"Oh, bot's doing poorly, but a quick roam from me could turn it around super quickly, because I'm ahead and able to hand my ADC both kills. Since my ADC is a heavily scaling one, this would let us win the game far more easily, instead of their Miss Fortune dominating and crushing us all. Since I'm playing Akali (or some other assassin), and my kills will eventually mean less and less, eventually meaning next to nothing in late-game, it's best to roam and capitalize on this now."

There. A proper scenario with adequate justification for your roaming. Happy?

Personally, I play Sion mid and countergank botlane by ulting down the river... But I'm a horrible person.

That'd work, but you're still taking a lot of damage to your turret before you can get back. The only way to not lose your turret is to make sure Ziggs is taken care of by someone else, or is coming bot as well.

I mean, sure. But 9/10 times you only get it when you've already won. It just hastens along the end a bit.

I lost a game on Wednesday where we took two Barons and an inhibitor...

Baron is much better at helping you finish a game you already deserved to win. You're stronger in a full fight, and now can force them to fight you or you'll take their base.

Baron still doesn't guarantee you'll win a full fight though. If the enemy team is stronger, they just need to fight you and win the teamfight...
