Does Ezreal really work better with Manamune Triforce and Essence Reaver instead of standard items?

Just curious because I keep seeing Ezreals I assume are following some guide because it's always Triforce Manamune and sometimes Essence Reaver.

That's more "AD Caster" Ezreal than straight ADC Ezreal.

Unless it's really low level Ezreals you are talking about, both have decent places in competitive value so ehh.

IDK about those three items but that build needs way more crit to be an effective ADC.

Actually, not really.

AD Caster Ezreal plays a different role from the more standard ADC Ezreal. He is more about long range, pre-fight poke than consistent in-fight DPS, and needs to be placed in a team accordingly (meaning, Caster Ezreal cannot be your source of sustained DPS, and you should bring another champion for that purpose - i.e. Azir Cassiopeia Karthus )

I'm personally of the opinion that a more traditional build is best. I still build item 3078 because it's such a good item on him, but the rest of the build is far closer to a normal adc build. Typically, the final build is item 3158 item 3031 item 3035 item 3046 item 3508 . It gives a strong mix of Auto and Poke damage whilst giving you enough mana to be both extremely slippery and relentless with Q poke. Another alternative I often use if I feel like I need stronger dps is item 3078 item 3006 and then item 3072 or item 3153 depending on which one you need more. This second build will easily give you DPS comparable to a normal adc while still retaining all the annoyingness that Ezreal entails. Another benefit to both of these builds is since you don't build a tear in either, you have a much cleaner power curve, much stronger laning, and you can actually snowball a game instead of investing in a delayed powerspike.

item 3004 might be better then Essence reaver, but it takes awhile to stack.

Q dont proc ludens or else it would be broken as fuck on ap ezreal, but it should so we can get some real damn wave clear.

Yasss more Ezreal love. :D I love it. As a Ezreal main (got to mastery five!), I shifted off the AD track in favor of utilizing AP (Q scales with AP and AD btw). However, I find Essence Reaver useless once the Manamure is built, and Infinity Edge infinitely better, especially with berserker greaves and your passive.

People build him to poke with Q, not for right click dmg. IF you want decent dmg go normal adc build, no TRIF, MURAM, IG, ER,

As said below it's really a choice between do you want to specialize in being an ad caster or being the right-click. I like skill shots as I'm a glutton for punishment, so ad caster all day. And having all the mana to spam spells is the best. :3

Sans item 3508 , yes because with a more standard build there is no reason to pick him over most other ADCs who would be more effective with the same build.
