Zyra passive suggestion

I know Zyra is going to get an update eventually, along with many other mages. I think that her kit is pretty good in it's current state, but she needs a new passive.

New passive: "Massive roots"

Zyra shares a large root system with her plants. Whenever one of Zyra's plants pop up, Zyra will absorb nutrients and restore a small amount of health and mana. The amount scales with level.

maybe add "her plants absorb hp from their targets when atacking/in the zone, returning it to zyra" so its different from gragas passive, adding some gameplay rather tan just a normal heal. since vlad is getting an update too, they definetly are going to do something with spellvamp, and zyra could make a good use as a "bursty dps in zones--control mage"

Yes this makes sense. Something along these lines would be good.

She could cast this out of combat, then. Maybe whenever they attack instead?

This would work as well. Either way this would make a good passive.

Zyra's health is about 479 at level 1 and 1700 at level 18. Is 75(+15 per level)(+15% ap) health regen per plant good?

Her healing at level 1 would be 150 and 690 at level 18 is she uses both her plants at once. Zyra is considerably squishy so i think this is good but she can be pretty strong if built mid.

In the end i think it should have a 20 sec cooldown or limited to one plant.

What's wrong with it being castable out of combat? If she has to spend mana to gain mana she is usualy going to lose mana, and how is restoring some hp by spending mana terrible? Plenty of champs have out of combat healing/regen.

I'm always up for Zyra being OP, but that seems like it might be really strong

How would it be really strong? It would entirely depend on how much mana or health it would restore.

Remember to grow a plant she has to spend at least 75 mana usually, so the mana restore would have to contend with that, and her base hp is so small that she can still be easily killed in all ins unless the hp restore amount is really large.

I guess I think about Ahri who has a relatively small heal every few spells, and yet it's a great tool for in lane sustain, which allows her to trade poke very effectively. Zyra sets up plants a lot throughout the entire game and can set up as many as 4 plants(although I'll admit that's pretty rare) for a single use of her q. So I guess it could work to make her effective against poke and basically mean, "you need to all in and burst her out". So I guess if it went with a few stat changes to solidify her opponents ability to burst her out it could balance.

I guess the real reason is that this would add power to Zyra when she's already in a balanced(if not really strong) state right now, more power means something needs to be taken away somewhere else.

I'd make is more based on how long the plant lives, not just casting the plant. Logically, it is gathering nutrients while alive, and can share them back to Zyra while alive. Now this gives her a choice, to make plants that are healing her, or to have them active for combat purposes, which will most likely kill them much faster, but allow them to do damage.

What if she gained her health after the plant died. So for example, she throws a plant, and it slowly and passively gains health to give to her, and then when the plant deals damage it gains even MORE health to give. And when it dies she gains all the health it kept is given to her.

Eh, only if she also gets damaged when the plants get destroyed in time. Part of her identity is being an unsafe squishy early game. Removing that aspect would also force a reduction in utility or damage to make up.

I swear if riot makes a mid lane illaoi
