Revert Patch 7.2 Ghost Changes

KING XXXI·7/19/2018, 3:51:25 PM·52 votes·12,870 views

NEW EFFECT: Movement speed now ramps up over the first two seconds, rather than activating instantly.

Back then Ghost was overused by many junglers and top laners, even after the change. But now even junglers who were supposed to use it like Hecarim would rather use flash or ignite. Please revert the Ghost changes and make it actually usable..

I agree. Especially since the introduction of predator, no one takes ghost that used to.

My main complaint with it is that it's really hard to lane with ghost since if you mis-position or the jungler appears out of nowhere, taking 2 seconds to ramp up your movement speed means that you're dead anyway.

According to this page, only about 1% of people take ghost. That's such a ridiculously low pick rate. Smite-ignite has a higher pickrate than ghost-ignite.

I guess people forget that immobile Mages were the actual reason why Ghost was nerfed. Champion like Orianna, Twisted Fate, Taliyah, Syndra, Viktor and some others benefited a ton from the mobility it provided, to the point where they picked it most of the time, alongside flash.

The other Summoner's became situational because of the amount of power it enabled for those champs. It made them way safer while allowing them to catch up opponents and engage.

I'm not against buffing Ghost, but a full revert will only bring the same problems back.

Wasn't this because ghost was previously buffed right before that change? I seem to recall they gave it more movement speed and a higher duration. Was a while ago now so I don't remember exactly.

It needs a buff, not necessarily a revert to the instant speed boost.

Yeah just make the speed reduced on ranged so mages aren't stupid effective with it

It can't be that hard.

I want to say no because I really don't think Predator Hecarim needs more burst.

I have long been an advocate for a slight flash nerf (another 15-30 sec CD) and a ghost buff to push the split between them to at least 25%/75%. Ghost, in theory, should be the option for champs who want to relentlessly chase like bruisers, tanks and even some ADC's. That just isn't the reality because Flash is far, FAR safer.

Ghost really needs changes that moves it closer to flash - something like this:

100% movespeed increase, lowering to 50% over 6 seconds. Damaging abilities or autoattacks within this time extend the duration to up to 10 seconds.

Simple change - and the 100% movespeed initially is to get that quick gap closer / escape, but still nowhere near as the instant flash. And so what if it is good on certain champions - perhaps give them adjusted changes or nerfs. This sort of chnage may break heca, rammus, singed but without looking at those champions too we can never get a decent Ghost.

EDIT: A downside of a good Ghost would be safe or late-game champs running both Flash and Ghost. Simple solution is to not allow both Flash and Ghost. Again it's not a perfect solution but at the moment our choices are "Flash and one other summoner" (of course with some exceptions such as Shaco or Heca), but it's much better than what we currently have.

I think that change is actually fantastic, of course it'S harder but whenever I play champs with movement speed like Warwick Yi Rammus and Hec I ALWAYS take ghost, as a jungler it doesnt affect much, ghost a bit before arriving and bam, you got the ful speed when in lane, and the fact that it is nerfed is actually helpful because arriving in lane with high movement speed to gank and just seeing the laner ghost and instantly zoom away is way too much, makes it impossible to gank while not on cd
