You do realize this whole game no matter what mode is competitive. Granted I think Rank should be much more serious, I do believe that what Tc is trying to say is that "it's a game" it's not going to get you money, it's not going to help you improve in any way shape or form in your life aside from the game. The "it's just a game" is just an excuse people use when they do badly. It might not give me money or anything it's still there to give it your best and when some douchebag comes and says stupid things like "it's just a game don't take it so seriously" is incredibly disrespectful. Like i said there are plenty of modes you can play in which people don't take seriously and are just for fun or learning new things. If you are not even going to try or take it seriously then don't play ranked

Well one shouldn't really hit a tournament if you aren't taking the subject matter seriously, doesn't matter how small the reward is (unless you really are that bored then oh well).

If it's an competitive environment then I think people should expect everyone to be at least somewhat serious about what they are competing, no?

It's not like LoL lacks casual modes, I don't think so.
