Thoughts on Blitzcrank?

I'm seeing this champ banned a shit ton these days. And he's sporting a pretty high winrate + pickrate. For a while I'm just told this champ does not work that well the higher you climb, but it seems he's doing really well regardless of that. My thoughts are that I hate how much you just get completely zoned playing against him. Champ can miss so many hooks, but then just gets that lucky one and completely turns things around or pushes the lane in his favor. Has really high damage on his combo, pretty much chunking any squishy for 50% in the early game.

Feel he has way too much power in his Q, but not necessarily OP overall. Would like to see him tweaked to shift power around. Currently ban him.

Idk, in what rank people ban him, certainly not in platinum + up. All in all I think he is balanced. He can feel borderline op, when he is picked versus a bunch of squishies bottom, with no escapes, but kinda useless vs tanky foes (leona, braum , alistar ) just to name a few. Also while his hook is down he is borderline useless, and does not really offer much in a fight.

Well it must be a low elo ban because i never see him banned.

It might become acceptable to talk about how poorly designed he is now since he's become popular in pro play.

@Tsm Crazfight and Sujiren I'm plat, have been for a few years. I main support and Blitz has been a personal ban preference for me pretty much all of the time. Not because I feel he is over powered, he has his counter play and everybody learns it really fast because of how much it sucks to lose a game single handedly to 1 ability, some times despite how badly he did all game a single hail mary style Q hits some one and that end up being the deciding factor, doesn't matter what his build was, how lane went, if your teams been playing better then the other side.So to compensate when ever he is open and picked, your gonna see a counter to him put into bot lane.

My personal view is his Q is the games best displacement ability, thats not on a ultimate. Thresh has a much shorter pull, also has a telegraph windup, cant pull over walls, and to follow up he puts himself into risk by dashing into enemy champ. Natu does not have a windup and has better range, but again smaller displacement of the enemy unit and brings him into them and it cant cast over walls.

Blitz was not originally not made for duo lane, his Q just has enough power that he is able to do it. He was riots take on a Pudge style champion, his kits built around his hook. But Dota has way more point and click hard Cc abilitys, and a different layout of the jungle. The funky thing is its not reliant on items but rather if he lands a skillshot as His kit provides everything he needs to really thrive,

Anyhow this is the 2nd thread I have responded to on the topic so I suppose I will just play blitz until I have mechanics and can start providing in game examples of my issues with him.

Edit for clarity, when I say shorter pull on thresh I was referring to the distance it moves hit units and not its cast range.
