With the new Voidling range, I'm almost certain you could place it under your tower early game for good effect. The main thing is who could afford to do this?

if you want resistances you build the common tank items item 3026 if you are that desperate for hybrid defense. if you want to towerdive that hard just get item 3056

I have a MS Nunu build which includes item 3512 , I think he could rush it because of his sustain top. I might even try it. Maybe Alistar top could do it too.

Galio isn't bad rushing it for the MR and MS. He can clear entire waves with his spells so voidlings go straight for tower MS is great on Galio

who could afford to lose cs to voidlings just to push the lane? it just doesnt sound like a solid plan.

use it as a substitute pusher for opportunities to gank other lanes / splitpush a bit

anyone who builds resistances (tanks that build full tank maybe shen?) and has difficulty pushing lane / would probably want to roam to gank. Not to mention it's a cool aid to towerdiving (movespeed bonus).
