She is permanently banned in all random game modes, you would hear a lot more about her if those games had a dedicated sub forum hah
Once upon a time, all enchanters had very high AP ratios similar to mages, players started to play them in solo lanes. Riot didn't like that and brought the nerf bat to all those enchanters. All but one, Sona miraculously escaped Riot wrath. How do you ask? Sona despite her high ap ratios, was never played in a solo lane, due to her lack of wave clear. To this day, Sona still wanders around Summoner Rift instagibbing people with a Lichbane Q-AA and bringing mayhem to skirmishes and other team fights with her overpowered sustain and utility.
Well, I should hope Sona does damage because her utility is among the weakest for an enchanter. She doesn't even have hard CC pre-6.
