Autofill is just the new excuse in an extraordinarily long line of bullshit excuses people make to justify why they can't climb.

Some examples:

  • I always play well, but team is garbage
  • Trolls/afkers are always on my team
  • Dynamic Queue
  • ELO hell
  • X champion is bullshit

You get the point. Autofill is just the next convenient scapegoat to point their finger at. The fact of the matter is if you play at a Silver/Gold/Plat level, you'll end up there.

Autofill really isn't that bad. I haven't seen a single person outright troll just because of autofill. Most of the time the people crying "AUTOFILL RUINS ALL MUH GAMES" are just lying. They'll either have one single game out of the past 20 that there was a legit troll or the game they're talking about doesnt exist at all.

Please stop crying about it. 90% of the community doesn't give a shit about it. Just remember, the 90% of the community that doesn't give a shit is busy playing the game. Only the 10% of crybabies will come to the boards to complain. Don't be fooled into thinking the vast minority represent the majority.

Autofill really isn't that bad.

You haven't had any games where your mid was autofilled as support, and your support was autofilled to mid? Or had 2 people who had second pick top, and the support got placed there? The system is flawed at best. It doesn't even TRY to make the team work, it just puts people in random places if you get enough dodgers in a row or the queue takes a bit of time, and in most of those situations auto fill COULD have been avoided. So yeah, autofill IS bad. It was poorly designed and if it WERE designed correctly I can guarantee you most of these autofill complaints would not be out here, because they'd be getting their roles much more often. Not to mention it's enabled in NORMALS where you're supposed to be able to practice what you want, get your two roles and experiment. If I get autofilled into support, I'm not going with a traditional support, and I'll likely take kills if I can get them, just warning you all now, support's job wasn't described as "let the ADC get all the kills" so yeah, "support" APShaco incoming. Or maybe TwistedFate.

The outcry about Autofill is a tiny fraction of what it was about dynamic queue last year. Dont even try to pull that BS.

well i have no problems with autofill as a support main my thing is that (a conventional) support really isn't a huge damage dealer late game and i'm quite dependent on my adc not being garbage, I've been put into positions where i die to save my adc because it my job but if they try to 1v5 going ham and die just before a team fight it's a little disheartening but it won't stop my climb. Eventually you plateau and that's where you belong.

or you can adopt my ignorant dream (considering how I've never legitimately climbed for longer than a week at a time) and aim to never plateau, but to continuously improve :^)

I got my primary role 95% of the time in "pick order" 2 seasons ago.

Now I get it 30% of the time. I've actually quit League of Legends entirely because of it.

But yeah nice "opinion."

I like going into support role, my only complaint is that in bronze tier its really difficult to come by good adc's. I tried to climb up playing only support and doing a bomb ass job with it, but my adc will just not have it in them or pick a really bad champion in the meta that they dont even havem uch experience with. So now i just climb with the twitch hyper carry, can do well if my support is good or not especially late game. Gotta climb up from the pits of despair x.x almost in my next set of promos.

They need to remove jungle autofill tho. Jungle is a hard position, arguably the most difficult to play. Putting that in the autofill luck of draw really hurts especially if nobody can/will switch with you in lobby.

Not scapegoats, those things you mentioned are alwayspresent.

You will always have autofill. It's not the sole reason that you're inwhatever rank you are, but it will lead to losses, inevitably. ELO hell can exist at any rank, and is part of how the MMR system works. There are always flaws in every system and "elo hell" is one of them. Trolls and AFKers will always be everywhere, on your team and the enemy team. It will "cancel out", but because of the way the promotion system works(win X out of 3 or out of 5 games), you essentially are rolling dice for bad or good teammates, as that single game is weighed significantly more than other games. There are enough things explaining the flaws of DynaQ if you are willing to unblock your ears and look it up. X champion is bullshit; varies on a case by case basis for any champ.Generally, the targets are the FoTM or sheep champ. And those are true. The champs are sheep champs because they're bullshit. A champ is FoTM, because, at that point in time or meta, they're bullshit. It's the way it is.

There is no sole reason for why you can't climb. It's a combination of reasons, that can't all be fixed. There will always be reasons why you can't climb. You won't win 100% of the time. Why won't you win? The "Excuses" are just samples of the reasons why you don't have a 100% winrate.

Calling these things "excuses" is ignorant.
