As a season 1 player, I find it frustrating that their communication got worse after maturing so much as a company. Lack of communication between differents departments, false promises, etc. The list goes on. Those things really hurt and will eventually destroy the trust between Riot and it's playerbase, especially the veterans, if it's not fixed and managed properly fast.
Rapid expansion will do that to a company pretty easily.
Who knew that random programmers from a mod team aren't very good at running a company. Hiring 980 employees in 22 different departments with vastly different areas of knowledge in a period of about 2 years typically is a terrible idea.
Also when your game starts stagnating in population before it hits the wall, you know theres a problem, especially in esports. They failed to recognize it and now they are stuck in a position where they can't just get rid of these people when they all have such a big role in the 1 feature they are implementing it would cut off 80-90% of current projects and reduce the quality of the game, but also they need to deal with the problem of having everyone with different ideas and even languages trying to appease a specific demographic (14-25 yr old males) leads to terrible communication, conflict of interest, and backwards development and leading the game in a negative direction
An Example is CertainlyT who definitely has 0 clue what hes doing, http://puu.sh/pd6AA/1d10e4531a.jpg <- shown here, Riot is his first experience in the game industry as a designer with massive authority for god knows why.
CertainlyT stands for "Certainly True Damage" by the way, and it shows.
They hired an extremely inexperienced designer to help balance and design mechanics and change current mechanics for a game with 65+ million players and as such, everything hes touched is hated to extreme levels by the majority of players. The one exception is thresh, which has no true damage, go figure.
He's still frustrating despite being a support.Every one of his abilities can be used for engage or disengage
Eh, still much better than whoever did all the early champs. Atleast his designs are interesting. Fuck Teemo, Irelia, Xin, Akali, Fizz, and Nunu.
CertainlyT is what happens when an Idea Guy gets to handle the controls.
Wonderful in theory, but the reality may need some work. The guy obviously loves trying to come up with new tricks, but sometimes it goes overboard.
Hopefully with some hindsight, they can continue to improve. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Most negative Glassdoor reviews for Riot mention there is a HUGE clique atmosphere there. Only a tiny handful of people are allowed any input, everyone else is just an expendable cog.
You don't even need glassdoor to see this. Every new champ and champ rework is handled by the same small group of designers; there's almost no new blood allowed. The only new people I've seen were Stashu and Repertoir, but I don't know how long they were at Riot.
feels so good to have your staff in a video open for everyone saying that they made a shitty system, everyone says its shit and they all agree, and the fix for the shit is to make it shittier
i love the statement that "5 soloq vs 5 premade IS a fair game" by rito's lead developer
i hope that tencent is loving rito so far
FF@S6
we can only hope that's what happens
I just look at this comment from about a year ago. That does it for me: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/vWEoZ6X0-balance-team-qa-ask-us-anything?comment=00440000
Not gonna lie, even supporting Solo-Queue, that post still makes me feel like I watched a puppy get shot and Riot just stands over it, malice in their eyes...
Good-bye, dear Sej. May a chariot of Lee Sins, Zeds, and Yasuos carry you to your sleep. Because that's all I used to fucking see when I played.
You make it sound like she's unplayable now.
She kinda is, man. I told my bf not to play her the other day, and boy he was sorry he didn't listen to me. He used to main her too.
She kind isn't.
Could she use a little help? Sure, but she's far from unplayable
Dude, why did the "Sejuani'd" or "Sejuani effect" come into play? Because Riot ruined her. She is basically unplayable because she does no damage, has to build tank to be relevant, and basically every other jungler outmatches her in this meta.
No, thats a term for a champion being nerfed when an item is the problem. That doesn't mean the champion is unplayable.
Again, they ruined her because they didn't compensate her back after they nerfed the item and her. All the other junglers in this meta are just so much stronger with items, with their kits and base numbers, basically everything. She can't keep up.
And yes, she is unplayable.
If I recall, they nerfed her so that she wasn't building tank and still melting people.
She still does damage, not as much as before, but I guarantee if you have a fat, tank Sej sitting on top of you with cc and flailing you're not going to say "she does no damage"
The issue with sejuani is that she has a similar mix of damage / cc to a malphite, but malphite can kill an adc if he gets on them.
Sejuani can't solo an ADC unless MASSIVELY ahead. Balancing a champion around being super fed is not a good idea, and they don't do it to zed yasuo fizz or lee sin so why do it to sej?
Oh the lies, they're so deliciously obvious. [slayer-pantheon-popcorn]
And equally depressing as well... [zombie-brand-clap]
That's sort of expected given how Riot is ran internally, from what I've heard.
The employee who wrote that and everyone on their team were probably told it was coming back by someone else. And whoever is actually making these decisions isn't communicating what they're doing with anyone who has contact with the community.
Fuckin liars pieces of shit
In the Video, Lobbster, the main dev for DynamicQ said : "we never had that much peoples playing ranked right now" to trying to tell us there never been that much players playing since DynamicQ come out like it was a great thing.
well no shit sherlock whats left?
SoloQ GONE, Ranked's 5 GONE, TwistedTreeline ranked GONE, TeamBuilder GONE, Dominon GONE.
is it me or the next STEP is League of Legend GONE.
they got rid of it 2-3 years ago
Eh, your logic is flawed. Casuals still exist. One would assume that if people hated DynamicQ that much, that the numbers in ranked would be falling. Assuming they're not flat out lying to us, then it means something that ranked is apparently growing in popularity.
TwistedTreeline ranked GONE
huh? i just played Twisted Treeline ranked last night lol.
Welcome to the "League of blow everything way the fuck out of proportion."
TheAngriestLulu
Damn what a waste.
TLL you've been getting so sassy lately and I love it
That's whe I need a good laugh
Definitely on the way.
