Can we all agree that..?

"Trying out" off meta builds on ranked games should be a bannable offense?

Dont get me wrong, am all in for off meta picks/builds. But the fact that some people decide to "try out" some build that you dont even know if its viable or not on a god damn ranked game, when normals exist, should be bannable.

I'm salty cuz i lost my second game on series cuz some kid wanted to "try out" AP mf/Smite mid.

"trying" anything in ranked is a big nono, unless "trying"="how well can i do".

I've been playing AD Malz Jungle, trying to get the mechanics down pat until I can play it without ever having to use my web browser for pointers. Only after knowing why it works/fails horribly should one even think about ranked.

Why people play something they are not super familiar with is BEYOND me. Only time I can possibly understand the logic is AS SOON as a champ comes out because odds are the enemy is just as ignorant as you are.

Exactly.

I'm all for off meta picks, but if you gonna go AD Mal (God knows how strong he can be) you dont "try out" him on a ranked game.

You dont isnta buy ekko and go into a ranked game. You dont go Ez ap mid after you watch Siv HD. ON A RANKED GAME.

I lost my series thanks to that. I lost the third game legit, but i cant help but wonder what would have happen if that guy didnt just decided to "try out" ap smite mf mid on my ranked game...

like ap Mf ap trist ad katarina those kinda things?

You can play them, and they are actually quite strong. But you dont just "try them" on ranked. You play a few games on normals, to know their dmg, the build paths, their ins and outs. You are not a god, test them on the fly on a ranked game.

Meh Trying things out is honestly fine. Especially since it is harder to try things out in normals.

Also theoretically AP MF works it just needs to get rolling early.

People said AP kog was trolling until recently. Now it's okay. Popular perception doesn't make something viable or not. I havn't played MF in a while, but AP MF might theoretically work.

You two didnt got the point. It's not about being "viable" or not

It's about testing off build builds that you have no idea how they work, you have no idea what makes them strong or not, and were just bored and decided to pick them on champ select.

There is normals for that, use it. After you have tried your build, and tested the results and feel comfortable to bring it into the competitive play, go ahead and do it.

It's the same with FoTM pick, they just pick them for the lols, have no idea how they work and then get steam rolled and ruin everyone's game.

How do you know that they're testing them, though? How do you know they havn't tried it on a different account (you could obviously check lolking to see if they tried it in normals)?

I agree that people shouldn't test new builds, but the problem is enforcing that kind of rule. Are you going to ban them only if they do poorly, because I have seen people with VERY mainstream builds do very poorly. Furthermore, how do you judge what is mainstream? I played MF and went a build that I used a few years ago, manamune, and people thought it was trolling. I ended up doing very well. Would I have been trolling if I did poorly?

The guy said "lets see how this works out" 20 segs into the game. That's how I know, I dont even bothered to lolking the guy. He played very poorly, havning nothing to do with the pick, just poorly. And the fact that he didnt know his weakness or streghts didnt help at all.
