This is Clearly a Passive Aggressive Post Against Janna Players With No Actual Substance To It

I might as well have fun with the title because if you mentions anything about Soraka or Janna then that fanbae gets upset and more than likely will never actually read this post to find out what it is actually all about, even if they do read the post they never mention what there is about my ideas that they like or do not like about them in a comment. One of these days I may actually know what they want, but probably not since they never like saying anything specific about the post, or just straight up not say anything. I rambled on long enough.

This is also not any kind of official rework for Janna in the slightest, if you could not pick up on that already, so let me know what is going on and what you like and dislike about Janna. Also I will try to do as minimal numbers shown as possible since people like fixating on them way too much, I just usually put numbers down to show a better picture of my ideas, even though the specific numbers do not mean much.

Point Form:

~ Add better skill expression to Janna. Just one example is that I want something like a shield to have some kind of fun gameplay attached to it, which results in something the opponent can do to prevent the shield from happening and Janna can do something more active rather than simply point and click. There could also be something like a damage reduction shield instead and when performing a certain action the target gets healed, at least with damage reduction the target still takes damage and provides the intended purpose of a shield like saving your ally, just one idea however and do not crucify me for this.

~ Give Janna an ability kit that makes more sense altogether. Something that bothers me with Janna is that she currently just feels like she has 5 random abilities slapped together with no rhyme or reason to why they are on Janna's ability kit. Considering Janna is an old champion, the design team was probably making a champion with support abilities and not really thinking about making Janna's abilities actually cohesive with each other. This element will make Janna more fun to play as and show better skill expression at the same time.

~ Yes, Janna's abilities do feel satisfying to use now and this element I want to keep for sure. I want Janna to have her abilities to feel satisfying and not feel frustrating for her opponent, the ban button should not be the counter play for a champion. Here is the thing, if more effort has to be put into Janna's part then even if the abilities have the same amount of power into them when they go off, it actually feels a lot better for the user because it feels like you earned that power and actually achieved something. Example: Landing Anivia's stun or Lux's snare will either result in a kill on the target or a significant amount of damage, because the abilities are hardish to land, they end up feeling very satisfying when you do land them. I am not saying give Janna nothing but skill shots, but give her abilities something about them that requires effort on Janna's part to pull off and when this is accomplished the player feels a lot more rewarded for it, even if it is just a shield or heal as an example.

~ Janna should have a complete kit rework and make an ability kit based around her tornado. There is a lot you can do with Janna to make her more interesting of a champion and a lot more fun to play with cool new tricks to learn and pull off. Again, this is not removing the identity or core elements of what makes Janna, well Janna, it is giving new abilities that grant a similar function to what Janna has now that actually go together.

Basic Attack Range: 550 units Movement: 340 units per second

Zephyr (Passive): Ally Send Range: Matches Attack Range Janna has a little wind spirit that follows her around that looks like a little bird. While the wind spirit is following Janna, this allows her to right-click allied champions or towers to send the wind spirit to the target or send the wind spirit to an enemy that Janna basic attacks.

If the wind spirit flies to an enemy, it deals low base (+highish% AP) of the target's max health as bonus magic damage and slows it down by lowish and scaling per level (+AP) for 1 second. Duration triples if the target is the centre of Eye of the Storm and the target deals x (+y%AP) less damage.

If the wind spirit flies to an ally, it shields for very low and scales per level base (+very high%AP) and speeds it up by low to decent and scaling per level base (+focused on AP) bonus movement for 1 second. Duration triples if the target is the centre of Eye of the Storm and the target takes x (+y%AP) less damage.

Howling Gale (Q): Cooldown: Medium; Cost: High; Range: 1600 units 1st Cast: Janna summons powerful wind that gathers power over 3 seconds at her current location.

2nd Cast: Janna unleashes a whirlwind in the target direction, dealing between very low (+very low% AP) to very high (+very high% AP) magic damage and knocking up struck enemies for 0.2 to 1 second based on charge time.

Tailwind (W): Cooldown: High; Cost: Medium Janna gains a surge of x/y/z/a/b (+AP) bonus movement speed and releases a trail of wind behind her as she travels that lasts for 6 seconds. Allies that move on the trails of wind gain x/y/z/a/b (+AP) bonus movement speed and deals x/y/z/a/b (+AP) bonus magic damage on-hit.

Eye of the Storm (E): Cooldown: Medium; Cost: Medium; Range: 1000 / 550 units Janna creates swirling wind around either a target ally or enemy champion that swirls counter-clockwise around the target for the next 5 seconds. Janna gains a ridiculous amount of x/y/z/a/b (+AP) bonus movement speed while swirling with the wind, if the wind is around a champion then Janna gains x/y/z/a/b (+AP) damage reduction.

If Janna fulfills a full lap around the target, then an upwards wind rises from the area, dealing pretty decent (+AP) magic damage and knocking up enemies for 1 second and healing struck allies for low base (+high% AP) health.

Monsoon (R): Cooldown: Ultimate High; Cost: 100 mana; Range: 1600 + wide and scaling with rank Passive: Janna gains charges for being within her attack range to enemy champions, towers or epic monsters, up to a cap. Rate increases based on Monsoon's rank.

Active: Janna consumes charges and unleashes powerful winds in the target direction, knocking back struck enemies between 150 to 900 units based on charges consumed and healing struck allies for x% (+y% AP) of the target's missing health.

At maximum charges, struck enemies that get knocked back into Howling Gale are knocked up for 0.5/0.75/1 additional second.

Most Janna are boosted E-girls who believe they are skilled because they are high plat. This champion is braindead and requires close to nothing to be played. She should be reworked hardly, or even deleted (think about Galio """"""""rework"""""""""")

Yes, she is braindead to play as, but Janna and Soraka players think their champion requires a high level of skill... mean while in Bard land, we just chillin', collecting chimes, you know how we roll, all chill like y'know! Also Bard actually requires some kind of thought process and skill to play as.

Though, Bard needs heal buffs, like:

Cooldown 12/11/10/9/8 from 12 Ripening time 10/9/8/7/6 from 10; AND MAKE THE RIPENING TIME LOWER WITH COOLDOWN REDUCTION AS WELL!! I want the ONE unique thing about Bard's heal to actually become unique in the late game because no one waits 10 fucking seconds for some extra health in the mid-late game!!

Rework Janna

I almost want to downvote this thread just because you said janna. Btw I played against a janna mid a month ago, I still have nighmares, there was no counterplay whatsoever.

Other than absolutely destroying her because she's hyper squishy.

The only excuse you have is if she's going AD.

Depends on the mathcup, but he is great against a the short ranged ones, plus I saw someone fizz, but it turned out fizz went jg.

Yes, that is why she needs a rework because there is no fair gameplay against the champion and she is pretty brain dead to play as, also she has no real kit interaction with the rest of her kit... it is just a bunch of support abilities on one champion. I am not so much against her having every thing on her kit, but she should at least put in some kind of effort for her power, which is what I tried to do with my example kit.

I knew the post would get downvoted because Janna and Soraka players just instinctively downvote this kind of stuff just because their champion was talked about in any matter without reading the post at all. It is just straight nerd-rage with no reason for it.

I gave an example kit for ideas, but the points is what I want to come across because she should require actual skill to play as, have abilities with fun little mini-games to them (one idea is swirling around a target that you pressed E on, creates both risk for a very rewarding mechanic and she actually has to do something active for that power, not to mention be fun moving at hyper speed around the target - within a controlled space so its not used for running away), have abilities that go with each other, and actually combo abilities into each other (almost like how you can Gragas ultimate a target into your Q, very cool interaction).
