How do you counter renekton?

There are a few things.

1. Pick a tank. Renekton can't do a whole lot vs. tanks, since they just eat his damage and don't care. He's MUCH stronger against carry picks, such as Riven. A good option for if you do wanna pick a carry against him is Fiora, because you see him dash at you and just press W, blocking and returning his stun and proceeding to outtrade him. Renekton counters most fighters in lane, but falls off heavily in late game, where most bruisers continue to outscale, meaning that you can also

2. Farm under turret. Any pick you make against Renekton can kill him if he tries to dive you without a significant lead, so play it safe and don't give him that lead in the first place. He's one of the weaker late game top laners, so you can be sure that 99% of the time, you'll outscale. You only really won't if you went Pantheon or something, who should beat him in lane anyway, if you're playing aggressive.

Darius, Cho, Olaf don't have problem laning against him. Also any tank. Are you playing carry champs like Fiora, Riven, Yasuo, Zed, Nasus (earlygame) etc top? Bruisers and tanks don't have problems with him usually.

Take ignite into lane against lane bullies. Set a rune page designed specifically for cheesing champions early. Electrocute with Celerity and Scorch or Electrocute with Bone Plating and Second Wind are good. Take Doran's Blade and a Pot into lane. Either try to engage your lane opponent level 1 or wait until level 3. One of the first items you'll want to compensate for lack of teleport is boots, which you will want to upgrade into later on in the game. Even if your lane opponent has teleport, you'll likely average a better return time to lane unless they also buy the same boots. Also, you'll be better equipped to roam and help other lanes as needed.
