Giving Shen "stamina" restriction on teleport summoner

LilxPaprika··2 votes·421 views

I was thinking since the main reason shen is ignored so much is because he can be too good at split pushing. How about if he uses his ultimate the teleport summoner gets a range restriction that increases over time. by 25 seconds or so it has a range of about the range of pantheon's ult. and by 45 seconds pretty much the whole map is available. Over that much time I could almost walk to wherever I want to go.

It makes sense too since he just channeled a lot of energy to travel across the map he's exhausted from jet lag.

I'm trying to understand your post but I just can't.

So nerf shen? Why? He's not exactly in a good spot atm.

But hes not in a bad spot.

He still counters champs

And he still can play lane without being considered a troll pick.

I mean, look at it like this. Shen + Bard + TF will be like, The new Gank meta..

Shen traditionally only has even and losing matchups. His ultimate isn't that desirable with Teleport in its current state.

There's better tanks and supports top lane.

Not saying he's bad, but he's not all that great outside of his ultimate, I love shen, haven't played him recently, but he's still one of my go-to toplaners

quite the opposite the reason he's not as strong is because he can split push. If we can get that out of the way we're now free to make him be a stronger contender top lane and in the jungle.

Imagine if shen was as strong as irelia top even without as much wave clear. The problem is when going for objectives be it dragon or baron, shen can split push and threaten them by saying if you don't come for me i'm taking your tower/inhibit. enemy responds thereby making it a free dragon since shen can ult there. Now if the enemy used their teleport for your ult. now you have tp and they don't. So just rinse and repeat this time using your teleport.

My suggestion is still not even that good at gating this strategy.

That's the point. Any large-scale mobility makes a champion inherently viable for split-pushing. Changing a specific champion's interaction with summoner spells is not how to go about changing this.

I didn't understand your post, I thought you meant just nerf him, and then do nothing to compensate, like veigar xD

Should probably make that clearer in your post

ya i started out with an ongoing sentence. but ya i think my suggestion is fruitless. I do think that if we're to solve shen, however, it'll be by addressing his splitpushing power. There's no use asking for fixes to his abilities until then. Otherwise, if he's buffed, we'll always be walking a fine line as to whether or not he's op.

I would like welcome the flow of ideas to solve this. Maybe i should have started a thread for just that and then pitch the idea.
