Why do people claim that Luden's Echo isn't suitable on Vladimir.

Hallbuster··3 votes·1,145 views

I mean there are pro's doing this and nothing in the item seems to be counter-productively "bad." 100 AP is certainly useful and Vladimir has a low base movement speed that can be mitigated with the 10% movement speed.

P.S I just wanted to add another line of text so the moderators won't take this down for being a "low quality post."

Post length and quality are unrelated. An issue with some of the posts you make is that they lack approachability, you can have very firm opinions and you discount and discredit any opposing points of view. You also at times dont show the logic your using and leave it up to readers to fill in the blanks which generates incorrect assumptions and other confusion.

As far as luden's its not necessary a bad item but it is situational. Vlads not really hurting for waveclear, but he lacks long range skills for easy luden triggers reducing the items usefulness to add to poke, As you said his mobility's pretty bad so his roam is bad as well. His slow movement and semi long cool downs result in a longer charge times so you get less opportunity's to benefit from it. I feel the majority of times its better to build for whats strong on a champ rather then to make something weak on them become slightly less bad.

For luden to be gold efficient ya have to value its passive at 630 gold and the question is does the occasional 100 per target to 400 all targets damage and additional 0.1 to 0.4 ap scaling worth spending 3200 gold on 2570 worth of stats, when there is items like say Rilays which provides 2431.25 base stats for 2600 gold and its passive consistently work on every Q you cast and youd only need to value it at 169 gold. Also Crystal provides more stats from vlads passive, and youd have it built first and be able to put in 600 gold to your next item before ya even see the first passive pop of ludens echo.

This is just an example comparing item traits on paper but the question you need to ask is, what does the item bring in stats and how much does my champion value them, what would another item of equal or lower gold provide in comparison, and what are the situations I am using this item effectively in.

Good analysis. I'll take what you said into consideration.

I like to build it fourth (after boots and 2 CDR AP items). It gives him a ton of burst, the extra mobility is nice, and the flat AP, while not entirely economical still seems better than the alternatives. Once you add Deathcap/Void Staff after the Ludens, it starts to pay off even more.

The other option is rush a Void Staff right after CDR is maxed; I feel this is more of a higher elo tactic since down here people don't bother rushing Magic Resist so I'd rather blast them with the Ludens giant hammer.

The other option to consider is item 3116 and item 3151. item 3165 is out since I've already got 40% CDR by this point but even if I don't, I'd hesitate because of the mana inefficiency.

Deathcap pays for itself better if built later.

I feel that Rylais is just too bad in its current state; I always feels like it doesn't do enough damage.

Lyandries is theoretically an option instead of Ludens I might try it (adds health which is nice since its reinforced by your existing resistances from the earlier CDR AP defensive items); it provides pre-emptive anti MR too.

Moremellonicon seems to be worth a try if I don't start ionians and go with mercury treads or sorcerer's shoes

It gives 20% CDR so you may have to give up other items to avoid CDR overlap.

item 3158 item 3165 ... into flat AP (item 3285 item 3089 item 3135)item 3151 is one option

Its absolute pure offense. You will immediately get blown up almost 100/75-0 mid game if hit by anything (without item 3157 or item 3102) but your damage will be through the roof (and spammable at 40% CDR). The Hemoplague pops will also be more powerful than Zed Ults.

In my view its not a good build.

You have enough burst with something like

item 3158 item 3102 item 3152 item 3285 item 3089 item 3135

while having a lot more survivability and mobility

...

The Morello rush gives you a stronger early (offensively) but once you hit the 3 item mark you'll notice that if anything hits you you are probably immediately dead or close to it (whereas with a more conventional build, you've got a noticeable higher survivability).

I prefer a more balanced AP build. The weakness though is that at 2 items you feel relatively weak compared to other traditional mages running the Morello route.

If you're looking at absolute pure damage and are confident you can dodge everything though, theoretically the Morello build will bring more damage than any other build. Anything and everything will die after 1 or 2 rotations (if you're alive to fire them) at full build. At 2 items you probably burst way harder than actual assassins (and AOE style at that).
