Why positional matchmaking is going to suck for me (and other players like me)

I enjoy playing support. I do not enjoy playing support with people that are below my skill level. I usually use other roles like mid/adc/jungle to climb to as high as I can with those roles, then swap to support for a more relaxing game.

There is no solution for this anymore. I will have to try and climb using support to my desired rank - which sucks. I can climb a LOT quicker using mid lane or ADC. I might just have to quit playing support all-together because I hate playing support in lower ranks (than my own). Or I have to play carry supports like Brand/Vel'Koz.

Climbing will be a lot easier when you are below your skill level with the new position based mmr. Right now, the main reason why people cannot climb to where they belong is due to variability of player skill in games. In a game with millions of players, a handful are bound to get unlucky. Position based mmr will increase matchmaking accuracy which will make it much easier for you to climb when you are below where you belong. Even if you are unlucky, you won't be as far below your correct skill level than you would be in the current system.

l've climbed to Gold playing only support for the last three seasons. If all else fails you can play Brand support and solo carry bot lane.

You could abuse the "trading" system. Attempt to trade roles almost every single game, and then I think they said your ranks will tighten and get closer to each other to prevent abuse? Which means your support rank will go up without you actually playing it.

Let me know if I need to explain this better. Essentially:

No trading = each position basically has its own unique rank, with little influence on the other positions. Lots of role trading = all your positions influence each other and basically have the same rank, to prevent people from abusing the system and playing their main role when they're assigned their garbage role

Why should you be able to do that in the first place? I see you're complaining that you can't sand bag your way to a lower elo so you can have relaxing games in the most competitive game mode. What the fuck. Just quit. Or carry your team.
