Most Questions People Ask About Current Changes Are Answered in the Patch Notes Already

I see more and more posts about people asking "Why did this change go live?" and "What was Riot thinking?". While these questions must be posed if we want to be a working community and if we want to give actual feedback to Riot, most of them have actually been answered in the patch notes already.

In this post ( http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/sOPku9ru-this-20-minute-herald-buff ) for example someone asked about what problems the new Rift Herald buff wanted to solve and where they are going with this.

In the patch notes, concerning the Rift Herald changes it says the following:

Now that Rift Herald’s been out for nearly half a year, it’s time to reevaluate our goals. Originally added to introduce a new dynamic between both halves of the Rift, Herald hasn’t quite made the splash we hoped for. Instead of driving action to the top side of the map, the Doom's Eve buff comes with too many conditions to be universally appreciated. Do I take this before or after taking a turret? Do I take it instead of a turret? When you trade lane pressure to take something that gives lane pressure, things get pretty muddy.

That brings us to today. When optimized, junglers solo Rift Herald with very little help or notice from their team and power farm camps until it’s time to group. This wouldn’t matter much, except that no one seems to care about taking it. ‘Are they bot? Eh, we’ll take a Herald I guess.’ Even after RH falls, there's no clear game impact - someone’s just ambiguously stronger for a short period of time. With Midseason incoming and an objective falling short of strategic significance, we went back to the drawing board.

With 6.9, we’re eliminating the confusion and refocusing Rift Herald to be an objective you really don’t want to give away for free. Enabling snowballing and split-pushers alike, Herald is a one-time event that puts the team it falls to firmly in the driver’s seat for the early stages of the game.

With that the post of above is basically answered.

What you can do now is criticise what they said - maybe you could argue that shifting more attention to the toplane is a bad thing because it has traditionally been a dueling island and maybe you want it to still be one instead of getting more attention from midlaners and junglers.

Giving proper feedback doesn't consist of saying that things are OP or absurd but also saying WHY you think it is. You need to consider the arguments of your opponent and actively try to give counter-arguments and debunk them. And, most importantly, you need to actually inform yourself of what the actual viewpoints and arguments of your opponent are.

TL;DR: Read the patch notes. Especially if you want to criticise whatever the new patch did change.

The questions are often rethorical.

No one needs or wants some copypasted Rito logic argument (mana regen is the DEVIL that makes lanes unhealty and passive!!!! Meanwhile, Zed).

Most of the mage changes are made so AD champions and AP assassins can beat them, no so the champions reworked feel good. Malzahar is a terrible midlaner now, 0 burst and contradicting buildpath and kit. He lost al his good match-ups only to get mediocre against his bad ones. He is now a decent, squishy jungler and little else.
