But has anyone consider taking smite as support then building item 3711 instead of item 2049 it passively gives you extra mana regen in the jungle which can be proc by stepping literally two teemos out of lane. You can ensure objectives with a double summoner 11 smite and cheese dragons all day. Just think about it this way.. lets say your playing Lux support and you wanna ward but you also have no mana.. item 1410 like you just E krugs or gromp and you get 18% mana back which u can continually proc and you can still ward you just have one less ward (max 2 on trackers knife)

So for ONE item item 1410 you get wards, damage, 7% bonus movement speed (on rune echo only) and more reliability with your harass due to your basically non ending mana pool from procing the passive nonstop on jungle camps please tell me if i sound stupid lol

Not really stupid, theres people who have done it and do it quite a bit. Normally its with supports that can invade well like Blitzcrank who can just yank the enemy buff and smite kill it however..... Or ivern support who just goes and steals the buff and shares with team mates.

But then you lose either Exhaust/Ignite (both powerful Summoners, the first moreso which can single handedly change a teamfight easily), or Flash (literally the single most frequent Summoners for a good reason because almost anything is possible with it).

Was a thing for a bit in season 2 or 3 if I remember correctly. People got really jazzed over global gold from drag. Might also have been due to the nunu support thing when it took off for a bit.

More wards = Less Recalls and more control of the map. You couldn't even get out your 3 wards max without either keeping item 3340 or losing out on the other important part of vision item 3364 Vision Control
