Conqueror Change: From True Damage to "Ignores 100% Of Armor and Magic Resist"

Meep Man··2 votes·1,184 views

What's the difference? Well, a decent bit actually. True damage pierces flat and percentage damage reduction for one. True damage also ignores any damage reduction applied to your own damage. Finally, true damage is an uninteractive mechanic, as most forms of damage interacting mechanics either interact with physical or magic damage. This benefits both sides, as now the extra damage dealt through Conqueror is considered for physical life steal and any rare physical damage shields, like Camille.

thats actually not bad.

they should do the same with infinity edge.

from "converts x% of your damage dealt to true damage" to "x% of your damage dealt penetrates 100% of the enemies bonus resistances".

They could always just remove the "Nothing can reduce true damage" effect they started enforcing about 2-3 years ago(damage reduction used to reduce it before, it just ignored armor and MR). True damage as a whole has seen tons of abuse with how it interacts with certain items and abilities (cough Gargoyle Cho'gath cough).

I don't recall them ever having anything reduce true damage.

Alistar ult used to reduce it, Vladimir ult used to amplify it. Mountain Drake amplified true damage against objectives for at least 3 patches after launch, too.

I think if they worded it that way then % damage reduction would now reduce it

That's precisely the idea, I think. (Remember the good old days when damage reduction was only armor and magic resistance?)

I feat the next step will be to just ignore health and automatically just kill the enemy champion.

You mean pyke ult?

Nope. That was just the second last step. We have yet to see the final plans of a group of bored game developers.

tl;dr: ninja tabi and similar effects would be much better against conqueror than before

Or how about we remove true damage in general and replace it with someone similar but that invalidates armor a bit less

Like, 20% of your damage ignores 50% of target's armor
